I watched the 3 episodes of Mafia Most Wanted on Crave this week. Thought it would be one of those weak “docs” that flood streaming services but it’s exceptional. So much archive, good interviews & Toronto history I didnt know. Real deal.

The Dundas curve is really evolving. Bandits retractable patio glass is the coolest thing. Daniel Lanois's studio just around the corner. A few other bars, the gallery pocket on Morrow.
Also got approval for an expansion of Bandit Brewery into the adjacent former Beer Store building.

This item was basically a request to endorse the directions in the report and move forward to the next stage of engagement. It looks like Committee will defer at Councillor Cheng's request. This would be a deferral on the proposed community engagement until more community engagement is done.
If you're interested in making this spine a little chunkier, the latest on the North York Secondary Plan should be at Planning and Housing Committee on December 3rd. No new details available yet but opposition from the low-rise Neighbourhood is expected.

Not so hot take: Our premier's bike lane obsession is among his Trumpiest qualities.
Very interesting parallels between how Trump is using the pardon power and how certain provincial premiers are using the notwithstanding clause (yes yes, the latter is technically a legislative, rather than executive, power). Both valid constitutional instruments, both being radically abused.

Thinking about Olivia Nuzzi, there've been a bunch of people like her (any gender) that kinda rose up over the years in the media life. Can imagine a continued trajectory like hers, but in Canada there's not much $ to be made doing so they disappear into other things, occasionally popping up again.

Here nor there, but we were walking by the Coach House not long after it closed (some years ago now) on a busy Saturday afternoon and there was the most massive dildo laying in this alcove. Like two feet long.

Until something else happens I cannot disassociate this place with that item.
