In that twilight of having cancelled my WaPo sub but still receiving the newsletter, just really want to appreciate a man who'll title his opinion piece "Another ludicrous canceling of a name from the past" in which he decries his opponents as "shrill", his own concerns obvs uttered basso profondo

Googling stuff after watching this I learned that The Hangover had its initial release in The Hague, which feels like exactly the opposite of what should have happened
If you have the opportunity to see NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW THE FILM & are interested in any combination of comedy band movies, Canada, & 2008, run don’t walk, it’s absolutely wild & delightful

“Tyranny of the majority of workers” - what an absolute banger. Who could possibly have imagined it would go down poorly? Another smash hit from the team that brought you “an island of strangers”.
“The tyranny of the majority of workers” is just *wild* language for a Labour government to use, as it abandons its pledge to protect hospitality workers re tips, forcing ‘em to take cases to a (broken) tribunal system instead @unitetheunion.bsky.social cry foul www.unitetheunion.org/news-events/...

Here is the skull,

Enjoyed this! Funny instance of being shy of solving something because there were other paths open & I didn’t want to dither over whether or not I was correct (but dithered over other things)

This is a really great thread
I have a friend who said, of Starfleet Academy, that this took them out of it - that seeing a person in a wheelchair in the 32nd century seemed unrealistic, since medicine in Star Trek "should be able to cure whatever was wrong with them."

That's not the case, for any number of possible reasons.

Last day of Red Door Cafe in its current location. It’s only moving up the street (into bigger & more modern premises the staff are excited about) but it’s still bittersweet to say goodbye to a space I really loved for five years. I’ll especially miss this amazing free-handed mural by Theo Tannis
