include big promises from "a podcast miniseries" to "limited edition hardcover with annotated author's notes" which is pretty big talk. I've heard of other authors getting similar unsolicited pitches but just a warning that this junk us out there.

interesting it's gone fromterrible dull English to terribly overwritten English. I do wonder what it's been trained on. It's also very detailed, with a fair amount of accuracy (i.e. relates the book to others in its series, presumably drawing on existing summaries/release posts). "deliverables"

Had a fantastically effusive message from "Dinah Arnold Literary" who use a gmail address and do not otherwise seem to exist, praising a recent book in quite extraordinarily purple prose and setting out a detailed "campaign strategy" to market it. Assume AI generated, but it's

Out today, the latest Tyrant Philosophers piece - book 3.5 in the series is a novella length offering about the life of Angilly, who we met in Days of Shattered Faith. You don’t need to have read that (or any of them) to read this.

Lives of Bitter Rain by @aptshadow.bsky.social is out today!

A novella in the Tyrant Philosophers series, this book takes a deep dive into the character of Angilly and her past, and further explores the empire's reach, and the costs of living inside it...

Maybe they could have gone to watch one of the myriad previous Batman reboots and that’s where Bruce gets the idea from.

This week's Oktobersketch vignette. All quiet on the front.
A scene of various animals wearing roughly WW2 kit, relaxing with tea and cigarettes. A platypus, scorpion, barn owl, ourang-outan, jumping spider, crab and monitor lizard.

Looking for a cover artist for self-published book trilogy. Mecha story with a boy and girl main characters. Something mildly cartoony that will punch in thumbnail.

Yes, paid! Four covers total, for each volume and an omnibus edition.

If you have a site you want me to look at, let me know.

This (Clarke-nominated) book really is excellent. Highly recommended.

I've decided that whilst critical success is lovely, I'd like to sell some books.

If you liked EXTREMOPHILE, recommend it to a pal! (If your pal is fucking COOL and not a narc)

Eco-terrorism biohacking body horror, smart shit with dumb characters. Your new favourite book

'A visceral, doesn't-give-a-damn biopunk thriller that treats the "punk" part of that subgenre not as mere window-dressing but as an antifascist shriek... vital and urgent SF that reaches places realist writing never could' ― @interzone.press

If you like cool shit get this 🕶️

Not tried it although if you wanted a starter fantasy rpg it has one of the clearest and best organised rulebooks I ever saw. Also the Egerkrans art is lovely.
