Hi. I hope I’ll be interesting. Same handle on Instagram (I was splunge2000 on Twitter). He/him
I've said I would have been a good Alfred to a Bruce Wayne, but in this world we don't get quality Bruce Waynes.
rich dudes got freakier after butlers fell out of fashion, like say what you will about having domestic servants but clearly it was some sort of moderating force on old rich dudes having a fancy man follow you around saying shit like "oh dear sir, that wouldn't be very becoming"

I would have been the wrong writer for THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, too.

If you want to know how awkward I can be, I just choked on powder from a chewed-up antacid tablet.

meanwhile, at our holiday, I wound up scrolling on a phone with two preteen girls who wanted to see cool weird animals. we looked at potoos and echidnas and naked mole rats.

the girls got so disappointed and angry every time an image was AI. they wanted to see REAL animals, not fake ones.
my boomer parents are not very online but they've seen enough AI slop that they've mentioned in conversation that they hate AI and find it scammy and creepy.

they were never the target audience (lefty politics, print media fans) but the fact that they actively discuss their dislike is notable
Anecdotally on twitter seeing a big shift the last few days from every AI slop account saying every other creative field is “over” and they’re in control now to now posting about how nobody likes them and it’s not fair and they’ll persevere and real artists respect and uplift eachother

I'd considered going to McDonald's after work for a burger and fries, but decided to go where I can get a burger, fries, and beer.

(Yes, I know in some places, that's also McDonald's.)

This is why non-romance people need to read more romance, honestly: will-they-won’t-they is fine but it is not the same narrative as “they did and then they did again and then they keep going but eventually someone’s gonna find out and then they’re REALLY fucked.”
but this? shut the fuck up. guess what, my man, gorgeous young 22 year olds like to fuck. And queer people deserve love stories that are sexy and horny. a "chaste kiss" please be for real.

In 1992, when I finished high school then started college, I also almost always chose movies that disappointed me or otherwise didn't work for me. I chose badly, over and over. Like PATRIOT GAMES, a good film but which depressed me. I mostly bounced off BATMAN RETURNS. I should've seen BOOMERANG.
Its time for a day at the movies.

RIP Tom Stoppard, among many other things the writer on BRAZIL who came up with the Tuttle/Buttle angle, which gave the film its spine. Plus if he wrote every line in LAST CRUSADE he's the one to thank for "I should have mailed it to the Marx Brothers." www.hollywoodreporter.com/lifestyle/ar...

Oh, man. I did the "Do you ever think of yourself as actually dead, lying in a box with a lid on it?" monologue from Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead so many times for an acting class in college. Never got old, even after countless repetitions. Just a perfect wandering of thoughts & transitions.
