My favorite ludicrous New Yorker style is that they print initialisms in full caps but acronyms (initialisms pronounced as words) in small caps, so in the days of CD-ROMs, they'd write the word like this:

Mmmkay so, I went through and counted every single time they say the word "kill" in Legend of Korra

There's more of them than I thought!

But! It's literally never future tense. Not a single "I'll kill you," or "you'll have to kill him," not even "he'll kill you"

Almost all past tense
It's strange, I don't think we actually see anyone get killed on screen in ATLA? Maybe Combustion Man I guess? And Jet, just offscreen but heavily implied?

But they do actually say the word "kill" a few times

Whereas in Korra we DO see people get killed, but hoo boy do they dance around the word

Starting to prepare my next update to the Canada Anti-Trans Risk Map. It’ll be a delta update focusing on hateful bills in B.C. and Alberta + the conservatisation of other provinces (in particular Ont. and Qué.).

Any thoughts on what else should I make sure to include?

One of the best worldbuilding guides you can read is Tolkien's notes on translation, where he talks about the fact that *everything* you write is in practice being translated into English; is is no more anachronistic to use the word "September" than it is use the word "sword" or "house" or "hello".
Not sure how I feel when a book tells me that instead of "12 months" they have "10 arcs," which are each 40 days long, and they all have names like Blossomarc, Flamearc Snowarc,.... I appreciate the world building, but couldnt we have just kept the calendar the same?

fwiw this has not been my experience at all
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.
