Mayor Frey do not call me.

Minneapolis did burn down and is super dangerous with the criming. Stay in your suburbs and do not come here. Also, you do not want to have to contend with all the bike lanes.
There are people who still think the cities of Minneapolis and Portland got reduced to ashes by BLM.
The are not good at strategy
they're coming for Senator Kelly, it looks like

The locally famous Mexican grocery store in my neighborhood has its restaurant closed, is closing the grocery store early tonight, and has its entrances locked with a a manager letting people in and out.

Get the fuck out of my city, ICE.

A million Muslims live in New York City. We belong here, as does every other New Yorker.

This is vile Islamophobia from the Councilwoman and it has no place in our city.

A nativity scene depicting baby Jesus with zip-tied hands and masked centurions with sunglasses labeled “ICE” and “BP” sits outside Lake Street Church of Evanston Monday. The church and its leaders have been vocal critics of Trump and Operation Midway Blitz.

Ahmed al Ahmed, the man who tackled one of the Bondi killers, became an Australian citizen 3 years ago.

His deed was "his way of conveying his gratitude for staying in Australia, for being granted citizenship."

He took 5 bullets, and fears he'll lose his left arm.

The ravenous, all-consuming narcissism that has rotted the mind of this man requires that every event, every tragedy, every circumstance be ultimately about him. Others in the world do not exist as fully human; they operate only to validate Donald Trump. This is a gross display of mental illness.
Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer were murdered. This is how Trump decided to respond.

The vast vast majority of ethnic Somalis in Minneapolis are American citizens, having either arrived as refugees in the 1980s and 1990s with the fall of Siad Barre, or been born in America. The number who are undocumented is almost certainly vanishingly small. There's no immigration enforcement here

Alien Earth, like the original movie, starts with crew waking up and then smoking in a space ship. Like, what? Homage, sure, but that was ridiculous even back in 1979.
Watching 90s legal thriller movies and it’s amazing how much people are smoking all the time everywhere like I expect it in a movie from the 40s but these people have desktop computers

It’s the first night of Hanukkah and the world seems like a very dark place. But we can bring light to the darkness. We can fight for each other and make goodness, love, and community shine through.

Show me your menorahs and let’s light up the timeline!

May all the killing end. Peace and botherhood for all mankind.
There's a joke about the origins of many Jewish holidays: "They tried to kill us, they failed, let's eat."

But some of us *were* killed in those days, and some were killed today.

This is a holiday about hope, persistence, and light shining when it shouldn't be possible.

May all the killing end.

Mass deportation is a stupid and inhumane policy in its own right but I still think it's important to say, this isn't mass deportation. This is the creation of a national police force that can be sent to anywhere Donald Trump orders under the pretence it is about immigration enforcement

There is an efficiency/efficacy argument against municipal clearing of every sidewalk. There is none against clearing critical paths to transit, schools, businesses, etc
The busiest bus line in the most populous county in Minnesota is the D Line.

These photos were taken within a block of it on either side. Even if sidewalk clearing occurred, parking clearing took precedent.

Municipal sidewalk clearing is a moral obligation. Frey opposes it, Schaffer opposes it.

the nature of birthright citizenship as expressed in the 14a makes it a happy legal cudgel as it were - removing nuance from the citizenship question is a good thing - injecting “nuance” and what about style questions is a white nationalist/supremacist goal whether intended or not

What conservatives mean when they say they are "under attack for their views" is that they are being accurately understood as the sort of people who hold the sort of views conservatives hold, and that makes them afraid they will be treated the way conservatives treat those whose views they scorn.
The fact is no presenter has ever had to leave the BBC for expressing conservative views, or even explicitly endorsing a right-wing party.

Was never a problem for Jeremy Clarkson. Was never a problem for Andrew Neil. Was never a problem for Alan Sugar

People do not stop making excuses for their selfish behavior
So if we really want to save lives we should install a mandatory minimum speed for cars rather than a maximum, got it.

Why do they want people to be unhappy?
Let people be their true selves, as they know and understand them. Let children explore their identities. Celebrate difference and variety and the incredible spectrum of humanity. The only alternative denies an opportunity to celebrate the joy of human flourishing and is ultimately unspeakably cruel
