You want well adjusted characters. Grown up characters. Complicated characters.

I’m different. I want biblical characters: fucked up, scared, constantly misunderstanding simple instructions, earning doom for subsequent generations.

People will die, and are currently dying, because RFK was granted one of the most powerful megaphones in the country. Two people who could have thrown barriers in front of his climb decided not to; there's a sex scandal here but it is not the biggest scandal.

can an ai, however defined and deployed, generate a The Format™️?

is generating a The Format™️ truly a human endeavor?
can you generate a The Format™️ is the new turing test

thus far no ai can generate a The Format™️

generating a The Format™️ is purely a human endeavor

They don't have to ban vaccines outright. They can just force people to jump through enough hoops to get vaccines that they eventually stop trying and give up.
The CDC has turned off its vaccine search tool.

The vaccines.gov site now gives an error when you enter a valid zip code.

They also removed text saying “Vaccines can help you stay healthy” and added a banner saying the site is being updated.

why would anyone want to commit fraud on the final exam for america 1877 to 20xx?

we got the end of reconstruction, the gilded age, the civil rights movement, the world war cinematic universe, etc

the joy of modernity!
Created the Final Exam for my United States since 1877 class this morning. We’re required by the college to use Proctorio (due to fraud), so I’m running an experiment. For the short essay questions, I’ve given them a link to a document to analyze and set Proctorio to allow only links I provide.

the when to leave conversation is the worst one to have - now and across generations

the contours of the conversation are the same as they were in the 1980s as they are now
Something I keep thinking about in convos about 'when to leave' is that finances really ARE an insurmountable barrier for people, as are qualifications (e.g. 'digital nomad' visas are great, but what if you're a barista, or a pipefitter?), and, of course, disability penalties.
When Is It Time to Flee?
Trans people and their families are facing hard questions and choices as threats to their safety and rights proliferate.
