How about if you're a judge?
If you're an academic using AI for your scholarly work, you deserve shame.
If you use AI for work that you submit, you should be banned from that forum. Whatever journal, conference, workshop series - banned.
Maybe you can appeal after a few years. Maybe.

I’m sorry, but it is disgraceful to be an academic who uses this technology to conduct research. It should be prohibited in all of our scholarly institutions, including universities and journals.

Well, the San Francisco Chronicle has an article coming out in tomorrow's paper about a judge using AI and making some pretty serious errors.
So of course the article has to have an error. It calls him a federal judge. He's not a federal judge. He's a San Francisco judge.

Kudos to @chrislhayes.bsky.social for asking the Asset Question regarding Epstein. Interesting non-denial from Himes. He said he didn't *think* Epstein was an asset tied to *U.S.* intelligence or "national security"—a smart non-denial of the obvious fact that everyone knows he worked for Israel.
