I'm so sick of discourse from supposed allies about where trans people went wrong.

Where we "went wrong" is that billionaires spent unimaginably large sums to attack us repeatedly and major media outlets have spent a decade piling on.

Media outlets who refuse to describe in plain terms what the president did because they find it objectionable are lying to their audiences and running cover for the president. It's as simple as that.

The president of the United States posted a video of him defecating on the American people. Many in my profession normalized it. This is a big reason why we are where we are.

Aaaah, I can hear my mom singing this, recounting the German beer garden she and her NYC friends would visit in the '50s and '60s, where one of the hosts would lead the crowd on this tune. Even pulled down a shade with the lyrics and used a pointer. (No word on a Col. Klink–style monocle.)

learned recently that the guy who wrote "The Night Before Christmas," clement clarke moore, also wrote a takedown of thomas jefferson's proto-scientific racism in "Notes on the State of Virginia," basically accusing him and others of making it up to justify slavery. which, that's right.

I note that the Roman Emperor Vespasian made himself immensely popular by completely burying Nero's Golden Palace and building the Colosseum and public gardens on top of it. He was also known for being able to laugh at himself.
