I remember seeing Curtis Sliwa debate Timothy Leary when I was a student at Arizona State. It was a great discussion.
I prefer the debate format, as it allows both sides to have their say and make their arguments.

Williams seems like a weak incumbent (has never won a contested primary, raised only half as much money as Jalloh in the last 6 months). Might as well take a swing here rather than letting her take a pass for endorsing Sliwa on top of being generally awful, right?

It is not Mamdani's job to deal with ICE, particularly as someone in a demographic that is being targeted. But while I'm still scared for my neighbors, I'm less scared than I would be if Adams- or Sliwa or Cuomo- was in charge right now. It turns out there are benefits to electing good people.

I’m a complete outsider to NYC politics but my general sense is that Sliwa is a complete weirdo who loves NYC, and so hates Cuomo far more than Mamdani because Cuomo hates New York

Some rise to power because their opponents were universally despised.
