The conclusions in this thread (which you should read all of) about the role that Cultural Christianity has to play in the perspectives of so many Westerners toward Jews and why theories like this are so popular on the left nowadays, are completely accurate and something I’ve struggled to describe.

I’ve got a theory as to why the online left seems increasingly into the Khazar myth, which used to be the fringiest of far-right antisemitism (at least among white people—it was also popular among NOI/BHI, but I’m not touching that one).

The one from a week ago? I’m sure in 6 months we’ll see a similar plea deal, or a trial. You understand that the legal system doesn’t work instantaneously, right?

This attack on Gov. Shapiro took place in April.

Dear Lisa Murkowski,
You turned a blind eye to this regime. What is happening to your state is a tragedy. You need to shoulder the responsibility of inaction by the federal government with help for your state. There is no FEMA or anyone else coming to your aid. Is this making America great?

Who knew that the KKK was so popular in England? Though, given that England banned Jews from even being allowed to exist legally within the Kingdom’s borders for about 400 years, perhaps it shouldn’t be very surprising.

41% of those under 25 wanted the Islamic terrorists to keep the hostages.

Our children are radicalized.

This Hitlerjugend is so desperate for attention that he genuinely believes that the Palestians’ struggle for statehood is being done for the purpose of inspiring him.

He believes that Hamas’s bigoted goal of extermination is about winning his pride, as if they need a Brit’s approval to hate Jews.

Handwaving away the blatant use of slurs and calls to murder an ethnic group, this phrasing is fascinating.

“Gaza, Gaza, make **US** proud”

They pathologically cannot help but make it about themselves, because that is all white saviors are capable of.

Fucking seriously. I never thought Bradley Whitford was that good looking back in the West Wing days, but goddamn does he wear that white hair well.

We should all be so lucky to age even half this gracefully.

POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

Yeah pretty much. He falls down a hill and sprains his ankle, and then the Compys get him while he’s trying to climb back up to the road.

How dare you hope for a better tomorrow, and not support me in my desire to just watch the world burn!

The utopia that will exist when the world is rebuilt from the ashes according to MY desires will be totally worth all the death and destruction required to burn it down in the first place!

the hard/wrecker left fucking hates No Kings for the same reason Trump does, because it gives people hope and they hate that

Go to a baseball game. Watch a movie. Take up a hobby. Make some friends.

It’s not good for you, when all you do is sit on social media watching war-porn from Hamas’s propaganda wing and working yourself into outraged fury about how the damn Jews just won’t go back to Poland where they belong.
bluelion70.bsky.social
My dude, you’re the clown whose entire purpose for being on this app is to scream into the void about how much you hate (((Zios))).

You don’t have a single interaction with anyone that is positive or about any subject other than how much you hate the Democrats. It’s more than a little sad.
bluelion70.bsky.social
They’re too afraid of the consequences they would experience if they did that. They know that Trump’s people won’t just gently escort them out of the venue and deposit them outside.

That’s kinda funny, since these assholes continually ask me to sign their petitions, every Sunday when I go shopping at the farmer’s market.

Not true. If people were merely calling for a Ceasefire, they would have been agreed with, 100% by supporters of Israel, 80% of whom hate Nethanyahu.

But people were using Zionism as an epithet.

People wanted Israel to cease to exist.

And that as the LEAST of it.
sifill.bsky.social
I can’t help but think today about how many young people were savaged on social media, branded as anti-semites and abandoned by their schools for daring to call for a ceasefire. I remember saying that it was the first time I can remember that calling for ceasefire was regarded as a hostile demand.

No, she’s laughing at the performative dishonesty of clicktivists who pick up the goalposts and move them the instant they actually get what they want.

Palestinains deserve better allies than Orientalist white saviors who see them as props and hapless victims incapable of exercising agency.

These points are so basic that they honestly feel kindergarten level to me AND YET it is also very clear that a lot of folks struggle to grasp things like "slogans do not have unambiguous and universal meanings even if you want them to"

... the same way that many leftists would argue that the call for Palestinian self-determination is not inherently anti-Jewish. ANYWAY, if you're in the former camp, of course you're going to see a sign that says "no Zionists" as an obvious social justice call. For the latter, it's antisemitic.

The one I think about a lot is the way many leftists have adopted the view that Zionism is inherently anti-Palestinian and thus racist and treat Zionism/t and racism/t as synonymous, whereas many Jews see it as a philosophy of Jewish self-determination that is inherently neutral on Palestinians...

People talk a lot about bubbles/polarization while ignoring that when it comes to I/P you have two camps who are *literally speaking different languages*, where things like "Free Palestine" or "Zionist" or "globalize the intifada" can have completely opposite meanings depending on the speaker

Something that a lot of people either missed or have forgotten is that over the past two years there's been a massive gap between what people *intended* to communicate and how their words were heard, and that contributed to the phenomenon discussed below.

Because “it’s not racist when WE’RE doing it…”

Lmao right? I wouldn’t even give a fuck if he did arrest Netanyahu, other than the insane overreach of NYPD authority that such an arrest would represent.

It’s a genuine tragedy that Palestinains are stuck with advocates/allies who are this mind-bogglingly stupid.
