can we just revisit all the Biden shit of 2024 if "the single most devastating piece about the President" that year was written by a woman texting her butthole to someone running against Biden and acting as a key aid to him, maybe just made it was a bad faith hit piece?
Hey, congratulations to all of Olivia Nuzzi’s horny media critic defenders. Heckuva job!

particularly when Trump is President, look at how Democrats everywhere else are massively outperforming and Mamdani got.... 50.4%

(and then went to meet with Trump)
Also, when you say people saying "Dems would win everywhere with a Mamdani-style platform," I think it's important to remember that that platform delivered the most charismatic candidate in recent history a whopping 50.4% of the vote against a street vigilante and actual vampire, in New York City

one day we need to study pop wisdom/memes/mass hallucinations in politics, the way people become wedded to ideas, phrases, and convicted of the reality of events that never happened

at the moment I'm thinking of Joe Biden's "one term pledge" which never happened but SO many people believe did

"Voters don’t get to choose who’s on the ballot." 🤨

what is it you think voting is?

my nephew just took a big step in his transition and I feel all proud and weepy about it and trying not sob to him about it, particularly since its just a step and his top surgery hasn't even happened yet and I can't be getting all emotional this early in the process

its a little offensive and silly to say someone who has been elected Governor twice, with the majority of the vote (first time in Maine since the 60s) is being "pushed" by an outsider rather than it being a rather natural outgrowth

honestly if she was a *male* Governor would this narrative be?
And can we ask why Schumer is pushing someone for senate from Maine who, if elected, will enter the Senate to learn the job at 79? The problem isn’t only with presidents.

This is wild, since it was Biden who ran in 2020 always literally running and bonding onto stage, but never once was it "getting harder to sustain" nope they went right for the kill

Trump meanwhile has always shuffled onto stage looking like a golem
Joe Biden should have seized the Times under asset forfeiture

I'd rather have good people who are old than bad people who are young
November 25, 2025 at 9:44 PM
unrelated but this is why I hate the phrasing "my *preferred* pronouns" or "I use pronoun/pronouns" it sounds optional, a preference or just what brand you happen to be using rn

I like "my pronouns *are*" or "Alex *is* a he/him" not optional
Properly gendering someone isn't something we let them have as a treat if they're good. We really can't let it become conditional; that plays into the idea that it's optional in general.

"you're not wearing the many medals and decorations you earned in your years of service the right way!" is not really the own you think it is Hog-seth

(also as far as I could tell, Kelly's medals were in order)

there's actually no evidence much less proof that Biden is or was in cognitive decline and still regularly appears in public and gives speeches and the like a year after the election.

but leaving that aside, linking the two only serves to flatten out and hide the ways in which Trump is horrible.
They are in no way equal. Biden came into the Presidency with knowledge and experience and acted in a way that we expect. Also is not a career criminal. But is old and in cognitive decline.

Trump's failings are myriad and well publicized at this point. But he is also old and in cognitive decline.

I'm on a transphobe list for sticking up for Sarah McBride and saying misgendering her is always wrong.
No, I do not “pick on” trans people, I have never done anything like this. And frankly, I think the willingness of some people to completely invent accusations of transphobia in the desperate search for a cudgel against ideological opponents suggests they don’t really care about transphobia
Listen dude, you can try and ride for this guy all you want, but the trans userbase of this platform fucking hates him because he picks on them. I'm going to listen to the trans people I know who are telling me he's bad. Plus I've been in these threads and seen it

I believe strongly people should be judged on the content of their character, their words and deeds not the color of their skin, their gender, sexuality, religion, age, nationality, disability, height, weight, etc

the only Kennedy Running for office, who isn't even a Kennedy is 32 years old.

any ways, is Nancy Pelosi the same as Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham? or the Clintons? how interesting, at what age do all old people become bad? and why aren't you?
Sorry, old politicians are too damn old. I say this as an old person. They’ve always been here, the McConnells and Pelosis and Grahams. Sick to death of them, and the Clintons, and the Kennedys.
November 25, 2025 at 4:21 PM
is Reagan being old what made him a bad President? a bad person? people don't remember but Reagan ran for President in 1968, 12 years before he finally won so if Ron had been President in his 50s and 60s rather than his 70s would he have been good?
Reagan was very old. We're still traumatized by him.
November 25, 2025 at 4:09 PM
so question is the thing thats bad about Trump that he's old? does being old make Donald Trump and Joe Biden equally bad Presidents and people? inquiring minds want to know.
November 25, 2025 at 4:06 PM
what is with modern dictators being terrible dancers who love to show off their horrible dance moves? what is that? is it just what happens when you have no one left to tell you the truth?
Meanwhile, in Venezuela:

I mentioned "thought terminating cliche" and cults earlier, here we see one in action, maybe also the "dead cat" school of debate where you throw a dead cat on the table and everyone is shocked into silence

but really this is just stupid and the verbal equivalent of throwing your own poop.
November 25, 2025 at 3:52 AM
It's a truism of the internet and like low information voters than having older leaders is bad, which twists whats wrong with Trump or Mitch McConnell is their age not their politics, or that everyone old has to have conservative/bad politics

which is bullshit
November 25, 2025 at 3:38 AM
I hate that like the internet has nuked people's brains, I saw someone bitching about "why is the President ALWAYS! like 90!"

Obama was in his 40s, so was Bill Clinton, W was 54, just in the last 10 years have Presidents been old (and people could have voted for the 59 year old)
November 25, 2025 at 12:56 AM
I think Biden's long time in the Senate and then 8 years as VP hurt him in one key way, he took on leadership like a Senate leader or the VP, as the party's sin eater, the guy everyone could rag on or who took fire, and no one protected the boss
November 24, 2025 at 9:36 PM
