#ASTHMA
Sadiq gets a lot of stick (some entirely justified) but he’s been an utter zealot for clean air via ULEZ, been re-elected twice, and it’s meant fewer kids dying from asthma, and you can see the stars again.
And the air is noticeably cleaner! Literally we can all breathe better thanks to the law!
I refuse to shut up about this: NYC started charging $9 to bring a car into our most transit-rich zone, the haters & trolls predicted doom, but traffic evaporated instantly and here’s Times Square tonite (even after the holiday tourists have left). For a better future, build transit & price driving!

Asthma is so rude.

“Research by Dr. Hviid and his colleagues recently showed that aluminum salts, which are used to enhance the immune response produced by vaccines, are not associated with any of 50 conditions including allergies, asthma and autism.”

Okay I am going to... TRY... to put up the tree today (I usually like to do it Dec 1 but this year, phew). The asthma needs to cooperate, my pain levels need to cooperate, but most of all, I need FULL COOPERATION FROM THE CATS

send thoughts and prayers for bugge

Hey, did you know that long covid now occurs in children more frequently than asthma? Meaning they can walk... technically... but not far.

GOT THROUGH THE DAY WITH FOUR CAFFEINES AND THE ASTHMA INHALER

For the 4th night of Hanukkah I gave myself a virtual urgent care visit with an asthma specializing Dr.

For some weeks, and especially last night, my asthma was epically bad. Not asthma attacks per se, but clear symptoms of a serious lack of oxygen. The details aren't going to be provided here...

I have asthma (horny) and I need my inhaler (boy butt in my face)

And asthma probably won’t kill most people! But we don’t tell asthmatics to just wait it out, because asthma attacks are agonizing and damaging. Quality of life matters; making people unwell enough so they kill themselves vs killing them outright is distinction without a difference.
Counterpoint: It’s literally the exact same thing what the fuck are you talking about why WHY WHYYYYYYYY would you think they’re different? “It’s not like if you don’t get your medicine you’ll die” no it’s fucking exactly like that and you just said it too! Fuck is wrong with you you, stupid fuck!?

CBP kidnapped a vendor Wednesday in Back of the Yards. His family is raising funds for legal fees.

I’ve been MIA because of asthma. This polar vortex is not going to make this winter easier for those of us who wheeze.

Same. This is exactly the only credit I give Mike Bloomberg too. I never had asthma or allergies as a kid. I got both from working in bars where the cigarette smoke was so thick it hurt your eyeballs.
Banning indoor smoking in NYC is the only good thing Bloomberg did.

He probably saved my life.
this is a good reminder of how things that are shitty but have been accepted as normal and inevitable can actually turn out to be abnormal and evitable with some science, time, education and political will

If it wasn't for asthma, I think I would have been a Black N Mild guy.

A customer took a huge hit of their vape and then exhaled in my face as they ordered and gave me an asthma attack

I think I’m allowed to choke them for 5 seconds Jesus fucking Christ

it feels great to be dehumanized like that! “no oxygen for you register monkey! Give me coffee!“

Fucking hell.

Australia:
A concession card holder with a 60-day PBS prescription will now pay a $7.70 co-payment for 60 days’ asthma medicine.
Others with a 60-day PBS prescription will now pay $31.60 co-payment for 60 days’ asthma medicine.

Three things: attack, attack, and attack.

"You want smog and asthma and blackouts, we're making clean energy too cheap to meter.

You want record profits for insurance companies and treatments almost as bad as the disease, we're winning the war on cancer."
I don't know what we do about that, but people like Yglesias want to put us into a concessionary treadmill.

Man this winter has been tough on me, this past week and a half I'm just having constant asthma attacks everyday, been almost living with the nebulizer mask on my face 😮‍💨

Yes, this is the “gaming the system” we should all be fretting over. Billionaires get driven right the fuck up to their private jets, but god forbid my knees are sore or you’d rather not board your flight mid-asthma-attack…🙄🙄🙄

please don't gift anyone things like food, candles, or perfumes without fully asking someone's preferences and allergies. it doesn't need to be a surprise. the thought doesn't count when an asthma attack or anaphylaxis could be the result.

When I was in hospital for an operation, they gave me opioids and it made my asthma so bad, and I was constipated for days, and it was extremely painful when i did “go”. I was like fuck this shit: can never be addicted.

I swear to god every new thing I learn about MCAS makes me throw things. For instance! Did you know albuterol is a mast cell trigger? Childhood "asthma" where I'd have an attack (mast cell related), hit the inhaler, feel better, get a rebound 6 hours later: explained.

Quite ill :(

Picked up something on my way back from Manchester, I think. Last night was rough and I hope I'm past the worst of it- it's interacting with my asthma pretty bad.

I hope all you outstanding critters are healthy and thriving and kicking butt. Your plushies are rooting for ya <3
