I have a theory that about 10 or so years ago a lot of the young GOP staffer types found out about the Cold War-era strategy of tension and the Gladio stay-behinds and decided that they needed to recreate them both in the US and abroad.
The new US National Security Strategy says explicitly, that the US should intervene in European domestic policy. It is difficult to interpret "Cultivating resistance to Europe’s current trajectory within European nations." otherwise in the context of everything else this government says and does.

Just saw an explanation that Trump is getting monthly IV Kisunla treatments meant for Alzheimer's patients. And that he has 6 months to live. And I'm going to just accept that as complete truth.

Well, refreshing myself on the battle... lots of napalm once the US captured the Peleliu airfield, lots of presighted artillery positions that killed a lot of Marines in the early stages of the battle, over 12,000 Japanese soldiers ended up dying, with 360 being taken as prisoners...
