You have to make allowances for the fact that everything we're seeing tonight is real.

Very occasional updates at blog.particleman.org.

The more I see of Erika Kirk the more I think that Charlie Kirk actually dodged a bullet.

Which grandmother? The one who could only babble after her stroke? Or the one who was the worst human being I have ever personally met?
whoops my fawning, sycophantic grandma-bot got bricked by a UI update
IN DEPTH | If you could speak to your dead grandmother forever, would you?

Don't break bread. Don't accept gifts. Make sure you spell their name right. If you're INSIDE the salt circle you're ON the record.

There is nothing even the remotest bit leftist about anthropomorphizing machines built and owned by capital, whose explicit intent is to use their machines to eliminate the working class. The world they intend to build is, at best, a world of serfs.
I am a leftist. I am to the left of most people I know. I want a leftist world to exist.

But the vibes and cruelty of this anti-AI movement cannot build that world. Everything about it screams fascism. It's fascism with better vocabulary. It's an aestheticization of politics in the worst way.

“Death is no different whined at than withstood” is quite a line. Well, he’s been withstanding it forty years today. I’m pretty sure he hasn’t changed his mind, nor ever will.

This is one of the best musical performances ever captured on live television.
This They Might Be Giants TONIGHT SHOW performance of "Birdhouse In Your Soul" from 1990 remains firmly lodged in my noggin thanks to the Tonight Show Band's full commitment and Doc Severinsen's incredible trumpeting... It took an already great song and made it transcendent.

I think you should factor in the possibility that every time these guys have gotten excited about a federal criminal case in the last eleven months it's been dismissed because the prosecutor fucked it up.
shocking that a bunch of white dudes are extremely confident that the Black woman DA put in charge of a case (against the guy who 50% of the country and a vast majority of white voters voted in not once but TWICE incl. after he'd already run the country into the ground) just "fucked up the case"

The final scene of Chris Marker’s PLAYTIME.
So this happened in Oslo yesterday. Four articulated buses got stuck in a roundabout.

Eleven-movie adaptation of Gene Wolfe's Solar Cycle.
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

I will confess I spent much of today confusing Udo Kier with Uwe Boll, which made many of the tributes I've read today baffling.

Absolutely cannot wait to bust down the doors for a drink made by a company whose unionized workers are on strike in a store that doesn’t want to hire minorities anymore.
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

To paraphrase Ben Franklin, MTG running for President is a sign that God loves us and wants us to be happy.
MTG is absolutely running for President and everything she does should be viewed in that light
I'm not entirely unconvinced that MTG isn't also platforming for a presidential run on her current "sorry not sorry" tour.

We should seize the assets of all billionaires, put them in a mutual fund, and issue equal shares to every American.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Found the tweet that Joyce Carol Oates bodied Elon Musk with and it's so beautiful in its eloquent, simple take down. So much so he's crashing out trying to prove he reads books now. Put this in the Louvre.
