Italian voice actor Carlo Bononi was the voice of all of the characters on Pingu. A trained clown by trade, he used a theater technique called grammelot, which consists of "speaking" in a mix of babbled gibberish noises. He improvised all the voices live and unscripted.

Just watched this live on TV now. Don't know Newsom well, but it's refreshing to hear people talk like this.
California Governor Gavin Newsom went absolutely scorched earth on President Donald Trump and the European leaders who stand by while he puts a “wrecking ball” to the world.

I didn't have a #DoctorWho phase as a child, but you'd be forgiven for thinking it.

Scott Adams has died. He spent the last decade being a massive prick. But Dilbert was, until nearer the end, one of the greatest cartoon strips ever, and will always have a place in my heart, regardless of who Adams ended up becoming.

Scott Adams, Creator of the ‘Dilbert’ Comic Strip, Dies at 68
Running in newspapers from 1989 to 2023, it sprang from the office monotony of his job as an applications engineer at Pacific Bell.

There is no pretence anywhere anymore.
Ukip have submitted a new logo and slogan to the Electoral Commission, swapping the £ pound sterling symbol for a cross, that looks very much like it is modelled on the Iron Cross used by Prussia & Germany 1871-1918 and Hitler's Nazi regime from 1933-45

I reckon you can go through life with a 90% reduction in your lexicon. Works for the smurfs. As long as you know context, you can work out anything anyone is saying. Smurf. Smurfing smurf.

I wonder what Starmer's unopinion is on the murder committed by Trump's brownshirts?

You don't need to know all the things all the time.

Constantly tuning in weakens you, while tricking you into believing you're an active participant.

You can limit what news you consume, how much time you spend on social media and better alternatives to nourish yourself while caring for others.

You're not meant to constantly consume alarming news and other people's distress.

Doing so
- sends you spiralling
- affects sleep, focus, appetite
- increases hate, apathy, sickness, isolation
- makes you sad, angry, numb

Overwhelm, threats and fear are weapons.

We should not be our own enemies.

Every one of Trump's acts feels like the beginning of the end, but invading Greenland probably will be, at least for the makeup of the world as we've known it since WWII. The world has never given a fuck about S. America. The US assassinates its leaders every five minutes. But attacking NATO...

#FilmSky, a quick question; what is the pettiest thing you have had to be annoyed at a film? I ask because I am watching The Gift from 2000, and the main character does divination with Zener Cards, which are not the same thing as Tarot at all. Why go for a more boring looking option?

I don't know why I continue to be shocked by Starmer's apparent inability to believe in or stand for literally anything, but here we are. Imagine simply no having an opinion on a head of state being kidnapped??

Then look at the surface of Mars.

Then look up to the top right.

Spot Mars' moon Phobos high in the sky.

Then notice the bright spot beside Phobos.

That's Earth.

Easily the most horrendous Christmas I've ever had. My mum was diagnosed with stage four cancer on the ninth, died two weeks later on Christmas Day. I just hope I can keep Christmases happy for my son from now on because honestly I'm worried it's ruined for me now.

Sometimes I fear my entire mental existence is a copied tissue of badly remembered memes, adverts, and scenes from film and TV.

The guy singing 'diarrhoea' in a current medicine advert haunts me throughout the day.
