Nice night of beer and pizza, listened to Genesis Trespass and GOAT on vinyl, feeling more prog, searched out King Crimson to go with last of a Maplewood fest whiskey

As a complement to Erin's post, I've been working on some threat modeling (including mitigations) for responding to this situation here in the ATmosphere as well as on fedi. This is at a very early stage ... feedback welcome!

I listened to the whole exchange between Ta-Nehisi Coates and Ezra Klein, and to the original "Charlie Kirk Was Practicing Politics the Right Way" column, and among the takes this piece is the best I have read. Long-ish, so set aside a bit of time. (Disclosure: I have been on Ezra's show...)
I really appreciated this thoughtful piece about Ta-Nehisi Coates & Ezra Klein. Andrea Pitzer says “lost” folks like Klein “don’t have a clear idea how this moment fits into history and what it is exactly that they’re doing”. [degenerateart.beehiiv.com]
You don’t have to swallow frogs
Klein and Coates show that if you don’t know what your core beliefs are, you’re going to get played.

When I was a Boy Scout they used to tell us the number one thing was to leave the campsite better than it was when you found it. So that it looked like no one had ever even been there.

@blockclubchi.bsky.social just read the gridlock story - maybe knowing it was coming, westbound Addison at Sacramento had a No Through Traffic sign across right side lane. Heard confused bus drivers yelling as they passed about it tho - prob good to give CTA a heads-up before dropping one!
