"We've had complete power over the country for the last ten months but absolutely nothing bad that's happening is our fault" is a gloriously cringeworthy argument.
KERNEN: When Trump keeps saying 'prices are falling,' that's not true. I think you should admit that.

HASSETT: But purchasing power has gone up by about $1,200 this year. It's just astonishing to me that the cost problem is somehow being blamed on us.

state capacity matters, and in the post-Trump era, rebuilding it will be *the* keystone task of the next Democratic administration.

it's boring, doesn't make for convenient sound bites, and if not done, will strangle your policy initiatives in the crib.
I do want to note Mamdani's transition specifically calling attention to like, people applying for city jobs and how many CVs they got in the mail, etc, because when was the last time you saw a politician actually talk about expanding state capacity other than hiring more cops?

Incredible video from Reddit (too large to upload the screencap). CBP agents attempt to detain a flower vendor and end up getting chased into a vacant lot by a crowd of teenagers. What a bunch of impotent sad sacks.

it's quite telling that they have to hopscotch around the country doing pop-up Gestapo because they don't actually have the numbers to hit more than one place at the same time.

The real bathroom menace: Border Patrol agents.
Listen to this Border Patrol agent cry about how he's going to be DOXXED after being arrested for drunkenly barging into a woman's restroom with a loaded gun, demanding a date from the woman inside, and then punching the arresting officers.

this entire ideology is predicated on the idea that people would rather die violently than live in prison. that being shot or hanged or gassed is *less* abusive than being confined to prison.

we have evidence that this is not the case, that given the choice, people prefer imprisonment to execution!
"What about [form of abuse that is mostly de facto decriminalised right now anyway]?"

I didn't say abolish bullets, did I?

Look here, says History PhD Kevin Roberts who leads the Heritage Foundation, if we start telling kids that James Madison owned slaves then the next thing you know they’ll start criticizing Nick Fuentes for being pro-Hitler and then the youths will be totally lost to the totalitarian world of woke.

If a civil servant had used federal government social media accounts to describe a citizen as an "imbecilic moron," the media would have flooded the zone with thinkpieces about the decline of American governance.

But because it's Trump's political minions, the media totally ignores it.
our media betters don't care that the government acts like a bunch of groyper freaks in its public communications because they want us to live in a one-party state ruled by groyper freaks forever
Official U.S. Government account refers to its citizens as "imbecilic morons".
