He found a way to turn peace into a grift.

NEVER FORGET: A few short weeks ago, a heartless Donald Trump told Bibi Netanyahu to "FINISH THE JOB" which would have meant certain death for all the hostages.

Now that Trump stands to make BILLIONS he's become the Peace President?!!! NO!!!! It does not work that way! The hypocrisy is NOT OK!!!

One of the Bridgeport neighborhood groups was just one of the admins sharing conservative brain rot memes before he renamed the group "Southside GOP." I should have left sooner.
lumberjackwharfie.bsky.social
soooo my Chicagoans, has anyone else's neighborhood facebook group gone from desperately apolitical (regarding federal politics) to at least 40% about ICE/DHS activity and organizing against it? like it's hard to overstate this shift

The last time I saw Rush, I bought my tickets at the Ticketmaster kiosk at Demon Dogs. (I’m vintage.)
A screengrab showing Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush, along with a notice that someone has tickets to an upcoming concert.

We’re fast reaching a point where ICE is going to kill a protester, no matter how many cameras are on them.

But ICE is working real hard to harsh our mellow.

If this is what Bari Weiss means by "doing the fucking news," CBS News may overtake Fox News as America's Leading Propaganda Outlet.
misoshnik.bsky.social
Lmao is this supposed to be a bad thing?
A tweet from Bari Weiss that says “"It's shaken me to my core," a lieutenant said of Mamdani's unexpected victory in June. "The absolute dread I feel is palpable.
"
Today in @TheFP our @Olivia_Reingold talks to the cops who say they will walk if Zohran Mamdani is elected in November:”

This sukkah was sponsored by @workingbikes.bsky.social. designed to resemble a rear gear cartridge, it provided seating and served as bike parking.

From there, it was a straight shot south to Douglass Park to visit the third pop-up park: a grouping of sukkahs as part of the Sukkah Design Festival.

In a nice touch, the seating at this park was designed to resemble the city's municipal device.

From there, we biked to West Humboldt Park to scope out a pop-up park at Chicago and Central Park Avenues. In a moment of serendipity, we got to speak to the sponsor. #bikechi

Signed up for @bikegridnow.org's bike tour of pop-up parks a few days ago. The starting point today was a lovely makeshift plaza in Austin, highlighted by an outstanding sculpture of Hebru Brantley’s Fantastic Flying Lil Mama.

Be curious about where you live. It is always rewarding. #bikechi

The Texas Military Department confirmed to @taskandpurpose.com it had replaced some of the 200 National Guard troops sent to Chicago for not being "in compliance" with validation standards. This came after photos of heavyset NG members were widely mocked. taskandpurpose.com/news/texas-n...

Trump: "I don't think there's anything that's gonna get me in heaven. I think I'm not maybe heaven bound. I may be in heaven right now as we fly on Air Force One. I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to make heaven."

Let's be clear about something.

Trump saying he won't pay federal employees, does not mean they would be denied payment for work they WILL do. It means he is refusing to pay them for work they already DID.

Which is something he has a long and storied history of doing.

“Everybody has their own Chicago.” Tony Fitzpatrick’s Chicago spanned the sacred and profane, working stiffs and the hoi polloi. He never lost sight of himself. And he was a storyteller on par with Algren and Royko.

Rest in Power.

Note on Trump Tower: I’ve always said that the building’s design fits the Chicago skyline and style of architecture like a glove. (Thank lead architect Adrian Smith for that.)

But the Trump name is a brand. It didn’t symbolize quality then; it’s toxic now.
