Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

Here it is, your #BlueSky #CharlieBrown #Bike Content of the Day for Monday, 11/24/25. You’re a good bikeist, Charlie Brown! (But, I still have no idea why Charlie Brown has been trending on here . . .) -

Great to be back in Tucson with @gabbygiffords.bsky.social for El Tour de Tucson. Turns out the secret to a strong marriage is an annual 32-mile bike ride. Thanks to everyone who stopped us to say hello.

In plain terms, the United States aligned itself with Russia against Ukraine and NATO. By transmitting Moscow’s surrender terms unedited and pressuring Kyiv to accept them, the Trump Regime effectively sided with Russia in the war and attempted to force Ukraine’s capitulation. It is betrayal.
Russia drafted a 28 point surrender plan, handed it to the Trump team, and the regime delivered it to Kyiv unedited, demanding Zelensky sign it by Thanksgiving or lose all US support. Trump and Vance then promoted the plan exactly as Russia wrote it, verbatim, on TV, online, and in person.

Here it is, your #BlueSky #Bike Content of the Day for Friday, 11/21/25. WHAT?!?!? The War on Cars taking up my personal #1 cause and wish in life? Please, @brooklynspoke.bsky.social - continue to amplify giving the 163 and Balboa Park back to the humans and other fauna traversing it -
Freeway Exit is an excellent podcast and it was a privilege to get to talk with Andrew in person. Also, San Diego needs to shut down State Highway 163 through Balboa Park! Parks are for people, not cars.
Really enjoyed talking with @brooklynspoke.bsky.social and @sgoodyear.bsky.social while they were in San Diego promoting "Life After Cars." They met me in Balboa Park (in the pouring rain!) so we could see, hear and discuss the ways cars have impacted our most precious public spaces.

Have a listen!

Here it is, your #BlueSky #Bike Content of the Day for Thursday, 12/20/25. I love leveraging Amtrak for bike adventures, but, dealing with their erratic staff and byzantine rules, which are arbitrarily applied (or just made up on the spot), seems to be cooked into the whole experience -
very funny to be scolded by a train conductor for having my bike in the wrong place, showing him the literal rule written on the amtrak website showing that i have my bike in the only place it is allowed to be, and being told that we’ll have to “agree to disagree”

If a reasonable person would know the order is illegal, you MUST refuse.

Obedience is not absolute, duty to the Constitution is.

Oath is to defend the Constitution not a person

Yes. U.S. service members have a legal and moral obligation to disobey an illegal order.

Not just the right.
The DUTY.

Here it is, your #BlueSky #Bike Content of the Day for Tuesday, 11/18/25. This is definitely a thing. Eight miles of my commute on the Silver Strand last night was spent staring directly into seeming high beams.
OMG 100% HOLY SHIT YES. Why the HELL can I not see anything except the blinding lights of the advancing cars? On my bike I damn near hit people walking on the paths because the cars have washed them out. On the road, I can barely make out the curbs and lane lines.
I wish we, like, regulated shit nowadays. Between car bloat, blinding headlines, and neighbourhoods packed with rental suites but no on-property parking, driving is an absolute nightmare now.

Very important for people to read this portion of the Epstein Files Transparency Act so you understand 1) why Mike Johnson was so upset today, and 2) what is NOT permitted to be redacted by the DOJ.

Another reminder that a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

ALL ROAD USERS.

And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all.

For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them.

As we were sitting in San Diego’s Balboa Park doing an interview with KPBS someone came by on a bike and recognized us. Turns out Aidan is a listener and supporter – note the water bottle – and was just wrapping up a cross-country bike ride! What an awesome coincidence.

Trump's illegal murders in the Caribbean just got worse. An internal DOJ memo on the bombings says the victims are waging war on the US, but per NYT, it extensively cites the WH's *own claims* to this effect as evidence!

It gets even darker than that. 1/

Part of the reason I started this account.
There is a very small, very strange minority of cyclists who think more people should cycle but also seem to think it should be some sort of punishment and refuse to see that making no concession to comfort or joy does not make people who don't already cycle want to give it a go.

I'll be interviewed along with two families from There Is No Place for Us. It would mean a lot if you'd watch and help spread the word.
