took the kids and cousins out in pairs on the ebike for rides around the neighborhood. Updated version of when my uncle or grandpa would take me for a tractor/ wagon ride around the farm

Dozens of Dutch school kids gliding past on bikes, headed to a field trip with their teacher. This is what safe cycling infrastructure enables.

50% of parking should be removed.

Can we brainstorm some cycling hot takes to create some controversies at the table tomorrow?

It’s important for venues to signal to its patrons that they are welcome and encouraged to stove by more sustainable modes of transportation.

Thanks @brookebikesmke.bsky.social

Keep up the good work!
Another urbanist victory I’m claiming credit for. When I completed the summer camp survey, I said First Stage should include bus & bike information in addition to parking information. Well well well, look what’s in our “what you need to know before the show” email.

“The opposite of play is depression”

Peter Gray has some great insight for kids and adults about the need for play.

@sundance.bikesky.social was kind enough to take me and my partner on an e-bike tour through this park on our honeymoon road trip and it was magnificent.

Complete with getting sassy at the well heeled horse people who were taking their steed who was afraid of bicycles on the heavily used paved path
With trees that have been in place for milennia, and a river running through it, this park offers fishing, camping, and on-site e-bike rental.

Just heard that Ted Cruz is sponsoring a bill to roll back many of the modern vehicle safety standards.

This is really on brand for the pro life party.

Something I've been thinking about a lot lately is how when a driver does something wrong, the public and media don't smear all drivers as reckless assholes. But when a cyclist — and especially an e-biker — does something wrong, all bicyclists get attacked and blamed.

I am skeptical of the CPSC's timing. These batteries have been on the market for years.

Of course the Trump government wants you to stop using your E-Bike.

I am always tickled at how easily little old me, a 5’2” frumpy mom with a cargo bike, can trigger panic and discomfort in other road users when I point out a transgression (even very gently).

If you don’t want someone to notice you endangering lives, endanger fewer lives.
He ignored me for the rest of the red light, then sped off during the leading pedestrian interval to get away from me lol.

This Thanksgiving flip the script!

If you are looking to ruffle some feathers at the dinner table, try asking your SUV or Truck driving family member questions like:

Do you tow anything besides ego?
How many laptops can that rig haul?
Do you need a special license or is the little one ok?
