It is not "pedantic" to acknowledge that a college protest against Iran makes zero sense. Protests are typically against things, not in favor of rights movements in other countries!

Do they really believe that students wouldn't protest if the USA was arming the Iranian regime?
It is not "pedantic" to acknowledge that a college protest against Iran makes zero sense. Protests are typically against things, not in favor of rights movements in other countries!

As the economy has plummeted, the rich in Turkey have in fact gotten much richer. Knight Frank's 2024 Wealth Report showed Turkey had the highest increase (9.7%) in "Ultra High-Net-Worth Individuals" (those worth $30M or more). Autocratic oligarchy offers countless opportunities.
Or even better: look at Turkey’s stock market, under the crazy policies that delivered inflation north of 70% (still above 30%). Markets can go very high under crazy policies, because lots of money can still be made, even in economies that are being immiserated.

Literally every government in thirty years has spent its entire time saying "the last lot had open borders", bringing in absurdly draconian immigration laws, then doing shocked Pikachu face that "controlled immigration" just means, for voters, "no brown people, make it 1948 again"

This is incredible: 81% of working class and 83% of young voters have seen video of Renee Good's killing, per new data I've obtained. Majority of working class disapproves of ICE enforcement. ICE brutality is breaking through big time.
