Between chilly weather (finally!) and a feeling of doom, I'm feeling the carbs, so I've decided to start a bake-through of the new King Arthur Big Book of Bread. First up: Focaccia #BreadSky

every single week they're throwing this guy a special oval office love-in that appears to be the presidential equivalent of letting your dog scarf an entire big mac and fries before that last trip to the vet
Pirro: "Mr President, there is in this room a group of people who love you, who believe in you, and who are so proud to be in this Oval Office and to be part of this amazing day because you have changed the course of America."

agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

Look, at the point when your game of dress-up results in a month-long mystery around a robbery at the Louvre, I think it’s fair to say you’ve made your dream come true
Loving today's news that the mysterious "fedora man" outside the Louvre heist was actually a 15-year-old museum visitor who dresses like a 1940s French detective all the time, just because. apnews.com/article/louv...
Fedora man unmasked: Meet the teen behind the Louvre mystery photo

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

It shouldn’t be forgotten that a big piece of Mamdani’s campaign was simply “cities are cool and lots of people enjoy living in them” which in and of itself dismantles alot of rightwing talking points

Nuremburg trials is the moderate position
He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

Warning to the feds: if Trump sends soldiers to NYC, we have very varied sandwich options at our disposal. You will encounter a fusillade of bahm mi, BEC, gyro, chop cheese, BLT, doubles, lox bagel, croque-madame, torta and döner.
Hell, half a Katz’s pastrami on rye could wipe out a couple of guys.

When many other Democratic leaders in Congress were cravenly supporting the run-up to the Iraq War, Nancy Pelosi opposed it and whipped votes in the House against it.
She has many other career accomplishments but that brave and prescient stand is what I'll remember.

I've seen this go by a few times on TikTok now and I have to say, I love this idea. We need a way to convince people to keep running even if they don't win, maybe building the loss into it as a troll move is the secret.

There’s no reason ever again for any Democrat to suggest moderating on trans rights. There was never a moral reason but now there’s no political reason either.
Somebody tell Gavin Newsom and Pete Buttigieg. it’s joe-ver.

What’s wild is that Trump thought withholding SNAP benefits in defiance of the courts THE DAY OF THE ELECTION was smart politics. His theory of humanity - and it’s not always wrong - is that everyone is as much of a cruel scumbag as he is. I’m glad that for one night people told him to get f***ed.

Democrats just ran the table, winning the marquee races -- NJ and VA sweeps, NYC mayor, CA prop, PA Supreme Court -- and lower-profile races in red and purple states across the nation.
If the media you're reading or watching paints this as anything but a massive win, stop reading or watching them.

Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.
