Waiting for an otter to show, this Robin was displaying nearby.
It's one of my first "proper" images and demonstrated to my other "superb wildlife 'tographer" half, that I had finally learnt that the background is as important as the subject.🤣

A Lakeland scene on a cloudy March day at Derwent Water, Keswick. In the foreground is the end of a wooden jetty with two wooden poles on either side of it. Two male Mallard ducks and one female Mallard are standing near the edge of the jetty close to the lake. The steel grey lake is quite calm with only some light ripples in the water. This is some years old, from the German isle Amrum

The bird is looking to the left, walking on the beach. The bottom part of the picture shows blue water with small little waves. than comes the curled sand beach part with the bird, on top is a blurry green beige part. The bird has sand on its beak, and some feathers are a bit desorganized from wind i guess.

I spotted this bird a few days ago, it has become a regular visitor - this is the first time I've managed to capture it.

It's a Carrion Crow and should be all black, it has a condition known as Leucism... it's the first I've seen...more in Alt Text

A Carrion Crow (Corvus corone) foraging near our bird feeder. It should be all black but some of it's feathers (tail and wing) are light grey or white. Leucism is a genetic condition causing a partial or complete loss of pigmentation in an animal, resulting in white, pale, or patchy colouration. Unlike albinism, this condition does not affect the eyes, which retain their normal colour.

A Robin perches on the edge of a garden wall next to some green moss. The background is of some grit and spent compost from a planter I had emptied on to a border. There are also ground elder leaves, which I later removed. They are a menace.

Ever just wake up on the wrong side of the bed and a photographer is standing there with a long lens
