I spotted this bird a few days ago, it has become a regular visitor - this is the first time I've managed to capture it.

It's a Carrion Crow and should be all black, it has a condition known as Leucism... it's the first I've seen...more in Alt Text

A Carrion Crow (Corvus corone) foraging near our bird feeder. It should be all black but some of it's feathers (tail and wing) are light grey or white. Leucism is a genetic condition causing a partial or complete loss of pigmentation in an animal, resulting in white, pale, or patchy colouration. Unlike albinism, this condition does not affect the eyes, which retain their normal colour.

Shot from a hillside a mile or so out of the town. The upper third of the church nave and the towers rise above a dense band of trees. Beyond the church the North side of the valley rises gently to another band of trees on the horizon. The church is one of the largest in East Anglia and reflects the wealth brought to the are in the Middle Ages by the wool industry

An ancient Land Rover (Likely a Mark II manufactured between 1958 and 1968) lies abandoned in boggy ground on the Isle of Skye. It is surrounded by tussocky grass and heather. The body panels are aluminium and have survived well, the steel parts, including the chassis are heavily rusted the way it is sitting suggests that the chassis has split in two.

The weather seems to be against us this trip... went up to look at the seals, we'd only been there five minutes and the weather turned again... I took this just before the heavens opened (sound on to hear how windy it is... much better than yesterday though )

Another one from this morning's walk with Netty.

We came across this little one in the dunes with it's mother, over 200m (220 yards) from the beach. Likely to have been born over night as the afterbirth was only a few meters away.

A very young seal pup lying on the sand and surrounded by Marram grass. It has white fluffy fur and dark liquid eyes. The rough weather of the previous day had forced the seals with pups to seek shelter deep in the dune system, on the walk today there were seals scattered all through the dunes. The wardens (all volunteers) had been out to cordon off the most vulnerable. Sadly there are so many idiots about who insist on getting to close for the safety of the seal pups (and themselves)

Scroby Sands wind farm as seen from Winterton-on-Sea, Norfolk, UK. Across the cold, grey, wind tossed waters of the North Sea the windfarm is silhouetted against a patch of early morning sunshine piercing the cloud filled leaden skies. On the walk I saw Snow Buntings, a Stonechat, more seal pups and lots of seals. I'll post more once I've defrosted (It's cold enough for snow to be falling)and gone through the pictures.

Just back from a failed attempt to see more seal pups... the harsh weather (Nor-Nor East winds gusting to 40-50mph, frequent showers) had driven the mums with pups to shelter in the cordoned off dunes. I'll try again tomorrow

Juvenile Herring Gull (?) soaring in the stiff breeze. It has mottled brown, white and black plumage. Wind tossed waves crash against a sandy beach tossing water from their crests high into the air. On the beach a few seals hunker down with their heads facing away from the wind. At the same location yesterday 30 -40 seals were visible.
