Welcome to December, and with the first snows forecast for us tomorrow, was good to sit amidst the silent serenity around Lake Pinchot this weekend. In summer the waters here all but hidden with lily pads, and wading birds loving the far reed beds

I don't often share stuff from my yard, but at this time of year, when all the bark has fallen off, the warped #lines that fuel my nightmares gleam against a blue sky. The house sits beneath three huge aged sycamores, each one a house killer if toppled.
