When I am not at work, I try (although this year...) to maintain my sanity by wandering around with a camera, taking bad photos at random.

For those who need help sleeping, more can be found over at www.flickr.com/photos/shynd...

Feel free to use and abuse, but an attribution wouldn't go amiss.
If I were smart, I would have ... not had so many typos in hashtags .... and also have tagged one of my avian posts today for #FlyDay. Alas, smarts evaded me; in recompense and penance, have a blue morpho on a window sill from Hershey's wonderful atrium.

Friday, so #Scaoe time is with us yet again. I have been a bad random snapper and done little these last 5 days, so back to last weekend I go, and a glance downstream on the Susquehanna from Bainbridge, PA; rendered to suit this weeks sky and mood.

After my last post, it would be churlish not to include an additional #BirdOfTheDay on a #Post, namely one of the territorial bluebirds - can't blame them, this post is within 10ft of a nesting box at Gifford Pinchot State Park they were living in with their young. 🦉🐦

Grabbing a #HolidayRobin for today's #BirdOfTheDay as it also seems to be sitting on a #Post; well for now, as its the self same robin and post that the bluebirds saw off some posts ago. 🦉🐦

Busy day, so apologies if I have been less responsive and not posting so much; would probably the last yellow rose from me this year be an acceptable apology?

I tend to do a lot of ducks and one of my favorite, cleanest, sharpest duck I happened to post for the theme recently, so .... digging back to earlier last year, not long after I picked up a camera again ... not sharp, but cute

Must be time for another glance at the changing leaves before they are all gone; this week's winds have tried hard to accomplish it, but sheltered valleys where this shot came from ... not so much

Those with a need ... a need ... for speed are not just the teens and young adults; the adrenaline craving goes way beyond age boundaries as this "youngster" on Lake Charles demonstrated.

Time for me to be away, for the day, but before I go, a few conventional #WindowsOnWednesday in the form of those upon the historic roller mill, grain elevator and warehouse at Muddy Creek Forks Historic District, all dating back to the beginning of the 1900s or earlier.

Slightly different take on #WindowsOnWednesday, not those on a building, but the cluster of 19 glazed sections of the stranded C97 "Angel of Deliverance" cockpit. Look to the wing on the right, and the space where one of its engines should be can be seen.

For those who've seen Winter's Bone, yeah ... its that soul sucking oppressive grey skybox in place atm, so going to reach out for a vibrant red rose shot from a month or so ago on this #RedWed.

Today has been cold and grey, and guaranteed to be the first really chilly night as, of course, its the one where my furnace failed to light.

Bring back the #BlueTue of a week ago; as seen from the aptly named Blue Rock looking out at Rookery Island.

Hopefully this doesn't trigger any recent pumpkin traumatic stress disorder in anyone, but diving a month back for today's art challenge and a piece for #AnimalArtTuesday in the form of this wonderful butterfly bench.

Mischief and Infamy

A summer evening peek for #PinkMon, the delicate riverside form of loosestrife, an invasive plant here. In the background, the towers of Unit 1, maybe resurrected for data center use ... and the infamous Unit 2, of Three Mile Island.

Cool, grey day here today; not conducive weather for these beautiful heliconius butterflies, who are used to sunnier climes and thankfully nice and warm inside Hershey's atrium.

Bit of crossover with the #birding folks for this #BlueSkyMonday. Folks were quizzing me about the egret and night herons back in the spring, and this 'urban lake' that I said I would see them at. Well, here's a little picture of the spot; Kiwanis Lake, in suburban York City, PA.

I came from the sunny valleys
And sought for the open sea,
For I thought in its gray expanses
My peace would come to me.

I came at last to the ocean
And found it wild and black,
And I cried to the windless valleys,
"Be kind and take me back!"

Meant to add a little gaming update this weekend; yes still playing and enjoying both BF6 and ARC; but if you're looking for a chill addiction and you've managed to pull yourself away from Balatro ... could do worse than saving Ballbylon. Ball x Pit ... vey, very good

Wow Karen ... that Charleston left me breathless; and Vicky, as ever, completely love you and Kai; never change 😊

For those less moved by natures' displays of painterly prowess, an alternative #GreenSat, but related to the last and some of this week's foliage, namely the locomotive that pulled, and the carriage I stood in to take this week's shots.

While fall foliage has been something I've chased of late; today's color theme pushes back toward normalcy, so let me dig deep and find some examples not decked out in yellow, browns and red. The last hold outs of the season that's been.

The wonderful iridescence of an oakleaf butterfly relaxing on the stucco wall; the underside of those wings are nothing like the tops. When the wings are closed you would be hard pressed to not think it a leaf.
