a friend complained that professors are too anti AI. There’s a good reason! We’ve been swimming in AI slop before most people knew what it was. oh you were upset the Boston Review or whatever had an AI book list? we’ve been reading slop essays by the hundreds, let us complain a bit while we adjust

MLK: I have a dream. I dream to live in a country where people are not judged by their skin color but by the content of their character.

TRUMP: I dream to live in a country where peole are not judged by their skin color but by the amont of bribes they are willing to pay me.
An insane political move. One of the recurring complaints about immigration in the U.S. is that those seeking asylum jump the line. This is line-jumping — but for rich people, not those in need.

Trump’s foreign policy isn’t “noninterventionism,” it is a kind of neo neo conservatism devoted to imposing authoritarian ethnonationalism abroad instead of democracy (gift link) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

When I always read arguments like that, I always like to take out how much Muslism live in Europe and how much in Israel/Russia. Reactions go from silence to moving the goalpost

The main divide today is between liberal globalism vs reactionary globalism. The only third ways across the Atlantic are Democratic Socialism in US and Pan-European Nationalism in EU
"When historians assess this age of American populism, Silicon Valley’s plutocrats will surely be judged its winners." Me on Trump's love of the broligarchy and what that means for Europe and Maga's future. as.ft.com/r/55519a35-2...

Europe must have its own tech-infrastructure. It's too dangerous to be dependent on U.S. companies. We need to replace Amazon servers, Google search, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, ChatGPT, Nvidia, What'sApp etc with European versions. Or we might just be destroyed from within by fascist propaganda.

This is pretty much exactly like a European saying the United States should be abolished, so that the governments of individual states can better represent their people.

It’s a take, you’re entitled to it, but what’s it got to do with you, buddy?

We have this cycle over and over of people panicking over the assumption that Trump can reshape the global order when the more likely trigger for global crisis is Trump generating disorder in America that collapses the US.

Europe needs to prepare for a post-American world.

People have to understand when US chuds talks about "real and stark prospect of civilizational erasure" about Europe are actually talkging about themselves.
US national security strategy.
Something sure is unrecognisable here, but it’s not Europe.

People continue to be surprised by this stuff as if we don't already know that the main point of strategy documents for the Trump admin is throwing far-right talking points together in exactly the way that produces maximum trolling.

"Globalist" = "progressive" for them. They aren't against globalism, but against a globalim based on rule of law and accountability.
Funny how they call their opponents "globalists". They will use national interest and rivalries to add a legitimacy veneer to their corruption.
