This is very interesting both for modern politics but also for history. While tracing families through the 19th and 20th centuries, I always marvel at the work women did on these farms. It has never gotten the attention it deserves.

The underlying premise of Maidan conspiracy theories is people couldn’t have possibly valued freedom on their own, someone must’ve made them.

US global media under Kari Lake has changed from promoting democracy and US interests to promoting anti-democracy lies and Russian interests. It’s terrible.

I would welcome the fall of the Maduro regime, with all my heart. But the way Trump, Rubio, Hegseth, et al are going about it is turning the U.S. Navy into pirates on the high seas.

Voyager 1 is about to reach one Light-day from Earth
After nearly 50 years in space, NASA’s Voyager 1 is about to hit a historic milestone. By November 15, 2026, it will be 16.1 billion miles (25.9 billion km) away, meaning a radio signal will take a full 24 hours — a full light-day — to reach it.

This also means that Trump II will likely try to accelerate over the next 12 months to break as much as they can before a Dem majority takes over in Congress. Declining powers are often just as dangerous, if not more so, than rising powers.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.
