How bizarre, this theatrical and pasteboard unconscious. Game & level designer, BioShock 2, Near Death, Psychonauts 2, Return to Moria, and others. He/him. Portland, OR.
Like all parents, I can speak authoritatively about what’s correct for kids, and so I will: the only thing anyone ought to be concerned with in pre-k is social emotional learning.
I think the belief by the powerful that "people will put up with many things if you are excellent at math" is incredibly revealing in terms of understanding How We Got Here

It's so funny that people consider Zohran radical. Like that's really funny to me. Like damn how far to the right is the average centrist man they should really examine that shit.

All day, many of you have been asking for a Cheney obituary from me. Get ready:
His Works Completed, Dick Cheney, Mass Murderer of Iraqis and American Democracy, Dies
As much as the Trumpists claim to disavow the War on Terror, they walk a path paved by the most powerful vice president in U.S. history.

AR-PHARAZÔN THE GOLDEN: What you have to remember also is he appeared in fair form.

CHOTINER: The next time the invasion of Valinor and the destruction of Númenor come up, I'll keep in mind that Sauron was handsome when it happened.

AR-PHARAZÔN: He was. Not that that excuses it.

CHOTINER: Right.

I’ve been recently talking with two friends who are just such developers, absolutely world class in their expertise. My mind reels thinking about the vast amount of people who could be doing amazing work, and they’re unable to, and likely dealing with massive life upheaval because of this.
I don’t talk about it much because the situation doesn’t really change but it’s still insane to me what an enormous amount of really talented game developers are out of work. just whole studios worth of incredible people, often people who worked on beloved games, unemployed.

I didn't take pics but the feeling of being in a group of people with no visible beginning or end was so thrilling. The opposite of online anomie, and a living counterpoint to the wary, isolated, compartmentalized world the shitheads want to make. It's simple and obvious I guess but it means a lot.
Sorry to be corny but the aerial shots of these crowds are almost indescribably moving and hopeful

this shit is so embarrassing. the government used to have guys who like, built bridges. now it’s just a gaggle of bleary-eyed cave children jacking themselves off to porno deepfakes of AOC while posting “based meme edits” of reaper drone strikes on venezuelan children. quit gooning and fix a pothole

vance has got to be the most cucked vp of all time. absolutely no power, completely subservient to a sundowning blowhard and an unelected nazi sleaze, so bored of waiting around for grandpa to give him something to do that he’s organizing forum raids like goons dropping in on habbo hotel

Mom: "No, we already have a centrally planned economy at home."

Not to discount the enormous damage they have done, and still can do, but this really might be one of the dumbest governments in the history of the world.
Johnson: "It's true that in previous shutdowns, many or most furloughed employees have been paid for the time they were furloughed, but there is new legal analysis - I don't know the details, I just saw a headline - but there are some legal analysts saying that might not be appropriate or necessary"

Okay, and that's cool, but like, what is the binding effect of this particular document?
This is a fair question (the answer is no) but I am begging people to just quickly check out U.S. Const. art. I, § 9, cl. 7 because it's really not about counting dollars.
dumb question, but: are we making enough in tariff revenue to fund these programs?

Well that's not how appropriations work at all

Have you ever wondered what disavowal means in psychoanalysis? It means reading stories like this and then continuing about my day like I don’t live on the west coast.
“A magnitude 9 earthquake on the Cascadia subduction zone could create tsunami wave heights that would wash away coastal towns, destroy U.S. 101 and cause $70 billion in damage over a large swath of the Pacific Coast.”
West Coast's two monster faults could trigger back-to-back earthquakes, new research suggests
New research offers the theory that the San Andreas fault and the Cascadia subduction zone could produce devastating back-to-back earthquake disasters.
