How bizarre, this theatrical and pasteboard unconscious. Game & level designer, BioShock 2, Near Death, Psychonauts 2, Return to Moria, and others. He/him. Portland, OR.
Look, I don't know much about UK geography, but this is very funny to me.

When caffeine isn't good enough, just do a little cultural-callback to get the blood pumping.

615 hand picked supporters, not weighted.

I suppose if it's not weighted, you'll quite easily get 97% of respondents to say that genai is re-shaping the industry.

Had this mug as a kid, a near-perfect encapsulation of what it means to be a social being as an American.

Raccoons took over the Richmond in SF, and we got a great photo out of it.

No, thank you.

C'mon, just a little context for how other speculative bubbles have gone? Like, a morsel?

I get why Wired (& other outlets) write this way, but it's so disappointing to see the lack of critical engagement when we know the publication is quite capable of it. (cf. their reporting on the Trump admin)

It's reckless because it's overinvestment with no underlying product. It will very likely lead to a crisis of overinvestment. The blasé way which Altman waves away that crisis should be something that the reporting calls out and demands answers for.

The "AI" doesn't have conversations, no matter the interaction metaphor the product is built on. If you view clicking a button on your computer and seeing the screen change because of it a "conversation," then, okay. Whatever. It's not, but knock yourself out.

Ah, okay, now we're getting to the meat of it.

This doesn't feel like a good track record. Collaborated with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas on something with the Vision Pro? Did that even happen?

This is comically stupid

A Goodwill’s book section is a treasure trove.

lmao, I completely forgot Shapiro wrote this book all about cancel culture. If only you waited a few more years, Ben, you’d have so many better examples of the authoritarian moment than, say, Gina Carano.

@dphrygian.com my browser’s discover page served me a listicle I actually clicked on, and Eldritch kicked off a pretty good list.
