Actor, Writer, Celebrant for all your ceremony needs, Typo Queen; I cannot get away from my father's death after an RTA and my joirnalist sister's murder... so I make work about them instead. ADHD is my frenemy.

Listen, my real obsession is death. 10 yrs ago I spoke to a room full of excellent people in Brixton. I wanted to explore what I'd learnt from touring my solo show about my sister's murder: Sometimes I Laugh Like My Sister. #Grief is astonishing and you're not alone.

Communists for the far right!
Piece on Frank Furedi, Claire Fox and others from the Revolutionary Communist Party who now embrace Orban and Trump
Their weird story is also a story about the power of money and how our twisted media rewards bullshitters

Shamina Begum must be held accountable for her actions when she was 15. Whereas I should not, because I was a mere child.

I cannot retweet this enough
The exact people now saying "Nigel Farage was young and foolish at school" (to excuse his racism, bullying and harassment of fellow pupils at Dulwich College) are the same people who said "Shamima Begum was old enough to know what she was doing".

OTD in 2001, as required by Budapest Memo on security assurances, Ukraine dismantled the last of its strategic weapons which were not handed to Russia to later be fired at them in the invasion we promised would never happen.

So we can be trusted with a peace treaty now.

Perfect Tom Stoppard story from DTel obituary:

His response to a letter from Harold Pinter canvassing support for a proposal to have the Comedy Theatre in London rechristened the Pinter Theatre, “Have you thought, instead, of changing your name to Harold Comedy?”

OTD in 1939 USSR staged the Mainila incident. A false flag to justify invading Finland as per our alliance with Nazis. We claimed Finn's attacked us just as a few hundred thousand of our soldiers were massed on their former border.

Imagine such brutality being tolerated & excused today.

I don't know how many of your (journalist) loved ones have been murdered with impunity, but I've had enough to find this... beyond. Just beyond.

Trump WANTS impunity for all autocrats. As we know, he is incapable of any finer feelings, and the effects are terrifying.

So many senior appointees in the Trump admin got positions they were utterly unqualified and unprepared for because of their social media presence or Fox appearances. MAGA cheers it on. Then it constantly comes back to bite them when they screw things up - like the Texas gerrymander.

There is a direct line between Donald Trump trying to destroy the BBC and him excusing the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Trump hates the independent free press – whether in the US, Saudi Arabia or the UK. We will always defend it.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."
