Dismal framing. Every aspect of most asylum seekers’ lives is controlled & paid for by the Home Office. They can’t work, are told where to live & have no autonomy or dignity. So they aren’t *choosing* to use taxis & don’t need to be “banned” from doing so. The HO just needs to get its act in order.

Brand new Kemi Badenoch gaffe brought to you via her spokesperson. Kemi Badenoch attempts to justify Katie Lam's racist repatriation/deportation policy for people who already have been granted Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK, which is akin to the extremist policy of Idi Amin.

In an interview with the Sunday Times, Lam, a Home Office shadow minister and Tory whip, said many people would need to lose their ILR status in order to ensure the UK is mostly "culturally coherent", prompting criticism from other parties.

Asked about Lam's comments, Badenoch's spokesperson said some had been "pulled out of context". He said: "She said there are a large number of people who came to this country legally but shouldn't have been able to do so. The leader of the opposition agrees with that."

Highlighting the party's plan to strip ILR from people who receive benefits, who commit a crime or whose income falls below £38,700 for six months or longer, he said: "I think that's broadly in line with what Katie said and that is the Conservative party policy."

Much like Jenrick, Lam has been accused of shifting with the prevailing winds on issues of identity and immigration. She certainly shares his unsentimental toughness on the subject.

"Everybody who's in this country illegally I think needs to go home," she says. Indefinite leave to remain is off the table, too. "There are also a large number of people in this country who came here legally, but in effect shouldn't have been able to do so. It's not the fault of the individuals who came here, they just shouldn't have been able to do so. They will also need to go home. What that will leave is a mostly but not entirely culturally coherent group of people."

Here's a recipe for oily rice for reference, but you would probably have to soak and steam the rice first. I'm concerned about consistency issues of using a turkey's cavity as a rice cooker if you only stuffed soaked, unsteamed rice into the cavity.
