THIS.
So chicken farms have started spending millions of dollars putting in state of the art air filtration and circulation systems - because culling whole flocks to mitigate avian flu is expensive - but we have done zero to improve air quality in schools - because kids are expendable I guess.

These are the words I’ve been looking for. It’s been true for years now, but this wording is better than I’ve come up with in literal years.
I wear a respirator mask in all public spaces because I refuse to be an enabler of the extreme harm that results from uncontrolled Covid-19.

I believe that every human life has an absolute value, and is worthy of being shielded from harm. That belief is reason enough for me to wear a respirator mask in all public spaces during the ongoing pandemic of Covid-19, to avoid being an enabler of illness and mortality.

This one should come with a warning. It's pure, uncut Christmas, and the combination of these muppets and their quiet dignity is deadly

“The legislature sat for just 51 days in 2025.”

Please remember this the next time teachers’ contracts expire and Doug Ford, Paul Calandra, and the rest of the PCs try to tell the public that we are lazy and entitled.

Enjoy your 102-day winter break, Doug.

I wish there was a polite way to say “actually not from COVID, or just something COVID makes much more likely and is quite possibly from COVID?”

children have rights, parents have responsibilities
This whole so-called “parents rights” movement the right has taken up and the left is supposed to kowtow to for votes is so obviously anti-child it really bothers me to see it presented as anything other than justification for abusive “parenting” and disregard for actual science on child development

Having fun isn’t hard, if you’ve got a library card. If you know, you know.
When we talk about physical media, we are often only taking about personal collections but a big part of shunning the current digital ecosystem is supporting your local library. Not just for print books and periodicals but for movies, games and other medias too. Get. A. Library. Card.

I've been seeing people say about their work lately, "I used AI in the edits & refining of this piece, but it's all my own words & ideas."

I think people don't quite understand what "my own words" means. If you're using AI, the words are not your own. They are an amalgam of other people's words.

Hey Alberta,

Please pre-order your flu & covid vaccines for next year NOW to help make sure we don’t run out. Instead of ordering enough for everyone and having a robust campaign, the govt is only ordering what they think the default demand will be.

Sigh. Pandemic, nearly year seven, no one understands how anything works.
When most people say "during Covid" they mean "when we did infection control in schools".

"Not controlling the spread of disease at all" results in more illness than "doing something to control the spread of disease".

So of course it's "worse than Covid".

This is a new mom looking out for the long term health of their baby. So happy to hear it.
A friend with a new baby asked guests to mask in order to hold her baby. A relative refused to mask & broke down in tears about her "restrictions"

As a reminder, babies <6 months have the 2nd highest hospitalization rate from Covid after adults 75+ & are too young to be vaxxed
