At a city council meeting about an AI data center going up in my community. It's packed and people are furious. Calling the mayor and council members corrupt. Loud applause for open socialists and anarchists. Naked anti-capitalist rhetoric. Most folks here didn't even know about it until weeks ago.

In the grand tradition of American journalism, both sides must always be expressed. On the one side, there might be the moral courage of CECOT survivors who told us their story. On the other side, there might might be my service to oligarchical fascism in killing their story.

Does that work for other industries as well. For example, American car manufacturers can just ignore European laws and regulations and export what they like to Europe without consequences?

Give American companies a choice, either they become legally compliant or they cannot operate in Europe.

In 2023 I became obsessed with videos of dads in cargo shortswaiting in parking lots during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. So when she came to town, I grabbed a camera and headed down to talk to them. I thought it'd be funny. It turned out to be something else entirely.

Afterward, he lived on the streets and nearly overdosed 10 times. “They took seven and a half years of his life, and I think it broke him,” his lawyer said.
