I really wish stories like this got WAY more traction than they do.

Steam banned this game for release FOR TWO YEARS, with no clear direction and communication to the devs as to the issues, content or concerns.

Meanwhile, everyone and their mother reported on Gabe's new yacht
Our upcoming game HORSES was preemptively banned from Steam, with no path to appeal. The game will still launch next week on December 2nd and will be available on EGS, GOG, Humble, and Itch for $4.99. Here is a detailed FAQ covering what happened: horses.wtf/BannedFromSt...

Also it’s funny how they can say this with a straight face when we’re staring down a looming economic crisis caused by one of the biggest corporate grifts we’ve ever seen

I'm certain enough of this theory that I think it should be used to identify when someone has an energy limiting condition and offer them help *before* they burn out:
I think we should be offering help to anyone who misses mostly the second day in their week. Tuesdays in a Mon-Fri week.

I 100% agree and would add that if you are hosting a holiday event and you do NOT have something festive, creative and delicious for your guests to drink without alcohol in it, you are actually an asshole

don't make them drink tap water while everyone else has bespoke cocktails!
Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

Since February, according to my latest analysis, almost 600,000 Black women have been economically sidelined. The November 20, 2025, Jobs Report makes clear this isn’t a blip. It’s a structural crisis. That is not a recovery. It is a redistribution of opportunity.
The exit economy is here. Black Women are paying the highest price | Fortune

I wanna talk a little bit about trans people and bathrooms.

I've had a fraught relationship with bathrooms my entire life, even before I realized what my gender was. In high school, I got called "sir" and got strange looks for going into the women's room if I was dressed casually (hoodie and jeans)

A lot of you believe in eugenics because it’s the only facet to white supremacy and racism you have access to because if pain and suffering were the prerequisites to not having reproductive choice then no one other than straight, white, Nondisabled men would exist.

Hey folks, I often do posts calling for indie developers to link me their games so I can signal boost them. Today I want to do something similar for all trans creatives.

If you are a trans game dev, artist, writer, streamer or YouTuber, reply here with a link to your work. Only one rule: no GenAI.💜

Things are going great.

The U.S. Coast Guard will no longer classify the swastika as a hate symbol. The policy similarly downgrades the classification of nooses and the Confederate flag.

Instead, the Coast Guard will classify the Nazi-era insignia as “potentially divisive”

I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.

Yeah, it registers as such a regression. Like, so many bad things about aging, but "I am an independent agent who gets up, makes choices, and can build my wants and needs into my day" is the *good* part.

Then BOOM, one virus and you're like, "Lo, I am unmanned."
being laid out by a cold as an adult is so demoralizing. like oh you’re gonna lie in bed with your little box of tissues and your little glass of orange juice? grow up

I love turkey fryer safety PSA season.
"Show people the right way to do it."

We would, but we don't own every turkey fryer. You've got to follow the instructions that come with your turkey fryer.

recommendation thread! I would love links for places who sell really nice Hanukkah cards. (NOT generic winter / seasons greetings and NOT “Christmas iconography but make it blue.”) my preference is indie / small press / support artists directly. who has sites they like?

If you hadn't known Alice Wong before today and are wondering who she is and what she means to the disability community, read these lovely memories about her.

Thank you for sharing this with everyone, Aoife. 💙
Megillat Alice

I met Alice through #Disbility twitter when it was completely new to me but our communities were still together there.
Alice had zero ego. She is friendly, compassionate, a force of nature.

We had fun convos, hard convos. She was really good at giving advice, listening.

I usually don’t like linking to the NYT, but I think it’s important to know that they wrote and published an obituary immediately for Alice Wong. (It selectively left out parts of her disability activism that they didn’t like, of course.)
“One of the things that really gives me joy is the fact that there are so many amazing, brilliant, creative disabled people out there. But part of my rage — and it’s a very real rage — is that most people don’t really know about them.”

If you ever found find yourself writing and publishing a sequence of words like this, you should:
a. go sit in a room by yourself and reflect on the life choices that led you to that moment, and
b. not be allowed within 1000 years or schools, day cares, and other facilities serving young people
Let us also not lose sight of how weird of an aside this is in the second graph
