watching the UKs green party elect an actual unafraid leftist into leadership and see party membership double in under a month is once again endless proof that if you stand up for leftist causes and treat the electorate like adults, you’ll win people over easily

No mention of the countries collapsed due to Christian degeneracy, despite us all watching one in the process of collapse right now

One has to wonder what they think "BC" stands for

My favourite is the one arguing Ancient Greeks were Christians.

You'll be missed, Guppy 💚

Hey, folks who know me pretty well on here. I'm doing a personality test that measures my self-awareness of my traits compared to how others perceive me. If you'd like to participate, drop me a DM so I can give you the link

The embroidery thread organiser in progress. It's made from an MDF box frame from which the canvas has been removed, bed slats sawn in half lengthwise, and some bamboo dowels.

I wind my threads onto the tough cardboard cores from dog waste bag rolls, which fit neatly on the dowels.
An MDF box frame, portrait, with three shelves inserted. The shelves have rows of dowels sticking up from them. Two small cardboard tubes have been placed on the end pegs of two of the shelves

I've bought myself a radar key, but if they keep down this segregation path I'll be including inability to use public toilets and the accompanying anxiety and avoidance in my future PIP/disability applications.

Mine is Alice MacDonald, Norwich North, and her only responses have been late and parroting whatever the transphobic Labour Party tell her to say. Blah blah dignity, blah blah safety of women and girls.

Chatelaine: prototype stuff also requires table space for the most part, also probably going to wait until I can get uncoated copper wire and anti-tarnish lacquer because the steel I'm using keeps sticking to anything that's been anywhere near a magnet, and I'd like some magnetic pin finders etc

There's also some cutting to do for the bead storage racks, and lots of drilling but I can do that with the cordless now I have a forstner bit.

Current actual art projects:
Deer God hasn't been forgotten, I just need enough clean table space for clay work for his antlers, and more hair rooting
kadeperegrine.bsky.social
That's a priority because there's no way on Earth I'm rip sawing the wood for my current storage project (embroidery thread wall organiser) by hand.

Slow day today, looking forward to an evening of real food and more embroidery. Wishing I had more energy and fewer chores so I could make more art.

Current priority for the craft budget is building the Gumball Everything Tool so I can get my cutting and engraving capabilities back.

It won't look the same, but if there's enough structural integrity left, you may be able to do some visible/decorative mending. My friend had me replace shredded cuffs on one of hers using crochet:

They do last a little longer if you put a dab of clear nail varnish on the thread on top of the button. Less likely to wear through by friction.

I spin and crochet, among other things, and one of the things I'm frequently reminded of is that the average consumer has no idea how things are made, and no curiosity to find out.

And before that, people underestimate the labour that goes into farming and processing natural fibres. Wool: sheep farming, shearing, scouring, combing, spinning, plying, knitting/ weaving, sewing.
Linen: sowing, growing, harvesting, retting, drying, breaking, scutching, heckling, spinning, weaving
kadeperegrine.bsky.social
Yup, there's no automatic sewing machine. Everything is made by a skilled worker sitting at a sewing machine. *Maybe* they manage to shave a bit of work off by machine cutting some fabric pieces or weaving/knitting them in shape.
kadeperegrine.bsky.social
Ohhhh. I was thinking too literally, expecting it to be farming/livestock related
kadeperegrine.bsky.social
I think I need someone to explain the joke...

Cis folks, please do this. Us trans folks are exhausted and many of us are also battling chronic illness, poverty, and a host of other stressors. I know for me, I can't face trying to persuade my MP to care when I've had so many party line dismissals already.

🚨This is an emergency🚨

This Government is currently sitting on an EHRC Code of Practice that will lead to the segregation and exclusion of trans people in public life.
