the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.

Also he really thought winning a peace prize was his last chance to get in.

In other words, he knows he’s done great evil, even if he lacks adequate capacity for self-reflection to figure out what kind of real amends might start to rebalance the scales in his favor.

Watching DEADSTREAM (2022) on Hulu.

A social media influencer tries to redeem himself by spending a night in a haunted house. Clearly written by the terminally online, the plot is disgustingly predictable, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

That makes attacking their points with fact checkers not very effective unless the fact checkers use misinformation tactics as well. In essence people on the right have to work harder and more creatively to push their agendas as statistics and studies frustratingly arent usually on our side.

The ICE attacks have been going on for months and we’ve seen a bare handful of examples where local cops go “Whoa, not in my neighborhood!”

Masked men dragging people out of their locked cars is a crime. Shooting peaceful protesters with *anything* is a crime. Cops are not on our side.

This is why I am confused when people don’t understand why the local cops are not arresting ICE for doing a bunch of illegal stuff. Because ACAB and they support it, are helping it and wish they could do more things like ICE gets to. The police have never been your friend or on your side.
