This is just beautiful. Sincere but understated. You can feel the ache of loss. Scorsese is as good a writer as he is a director and actor. My house is full of books that he contributed essays, forewords, and introductions to, and every one is a gem.

I count 10 cities in 2025 that are on track to have the fewest murders since at least 1970. Newark is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1956 (though only have data through Oct this year) and San Francisco is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1942.

Mike checked. It's real. For some documents. If I had to venture a guess, the ones redacted by the FBI were done properly, these will be the ones they delayed the release for in order to protect their friends.
