CBS paid the president of the United States millions in bribe money and now they censor news reports so it does not annoy him. I don’t know how much plainer we can put this.

Now seems like a swell time to point out that Frontline just released this excellent 11-minute mini-documentary about what happened inside CECOT.

God this is such a fucking bummer. The thing they think DEI is is actually what they are. Bari Weiss's talents are: getting rich people to give her money, and cosplaying as a "journalist" by using centrism and faux objectivity language to obscure her persistent bias and sizable incompetence.

Thinking today about this sentence:

"Every $100 increase in median rent is associated with a 9 percent increase in the estimated homelessness rate, according to a 2020 report by the U.S. Government Accountability Office."
Inflation is making homelessness worse
Rising housing costs, combined with persistent inflation for basic necessities like gas and food, have left more Americans newly homeless and millions more fearing they’ll soon lose their homes.

Our usage, under near identical weather conditions, is down 35 therms from last year and our bill (which was already a gouge) went up by $50 for this period compared to last year

If you look up "playing in our faces" on urbandictionary.com it's just the BGE logo

Every trans person--including every trans child--deserves the chance to be fully themselves. I'm so sick of seeing trans folks harmed repeatedly and unrelentingly, against all reason and scientific precedent. To my trans friends--I'm so sorry the world keeps trying to dim your light.

Rob Reiner either made your favorite movie, or made somebody you know’s favorite movie. If you’re a Californian, he’s also part of the reason you or your friends can get married. He has changed more lives for the better than this asshole commenting on him ever did.

We library folk do a good job talking about all the free services we offer, but I don’t see many of us talking about how libraries are one or the only places where you can use services without being advertised to.

I was up with the baby and the city collected recycling on my block at like 345 am. I thought their super early runs were to beat the summer heat but apparently they stayed with it?

I should watch Baltimorons
WOW. Loving that AMC is playing trailers for Baltimorons as commercial bumps. They call it a new Christmas classic. I hope we can get out of the Wire mode for Baltimore.

"have a happy holiday" is a lyric in "rocking around the Christmas tree", it's just a nice thing to say and people need to calm TF down.

"Happy holidays" -->so you hate Christmas?

is the original "I like pancakes" --> oh so you hate waffles?
The aversion to Happy Holidays is deranged. This is something you learn to say in literally elementary school to avoid leaving out other children. Plus, you get Jewish holidays off from school if you live in a civilized part of the country so why would you be angry about having to acknowledge them

Dems will write letters whose sternness we've scarcely yet contemplated

But seriously this court needs to be reigned in
Not a criticism of this (excellent!) thread, or Casten in particular, but I do think Democrats need to start laying out clear, definitive and escalatory steps they plan to take in response if/when SCOTUS goes through with this.
The 14th Amendment says that all people born in America, regardless of race are citizens and have a right to equal protection under the law. For SCOTUS to be remotely confused on that text speaks to their racism, not the Constitution (1/3) www.cnn.com/2025/12/05/p...

When will any journalist follow up on these hollow excuses with "you're a senator/Congressmqn/the speaker of the house. It's your job to know and if you don't want to do the job, shouldn't the people be represented by someone who will?
WELKER: You're talking about Trump protecting Arkansas from drugs, yet he pardoned the former president of Honduras who trafficked more than 500 tons of cocaine into the US. How does that make us safer?

COTTON: I haven't spoken to POTUS about that pardon. I have to know more about the circumstances

It starts with knowing the truth. Don’t allow yourselves to be gaslit into believing this is a real question.
