LOOK AT THE AMAZING COVER ART! I'M NOT JUST SAYING THAT BECAUSE ONE OF THEM ARE MINE! 💜
Hi, I'm Eva! I'm still figuring out all the various intricacies of living with chronic illness, so I work freelance as a book cover artist. I also love writing and drawing about my OCs and interests, and make comics when time and spoons permit! 🥰

This always makes me sound like a crank, but I continue to think there is a way to make real money by selling solidly in-genre SFF books (the kind that are read by 5-10k people but are not breakout crossover hits) in mass-market format. And I *miss* the books published in that sector of the market
I can't tell you how much I miss the mass-market paperback, a book format I could reliably fit in my coat pocket!

Now if I want a book that conveniently portable, I HAVE to read on my phone.
i am begging publishers to bring back mass paperbacks. i am not in the income bracket to buy sprayed edges. i am not in the income bracket to buy.... regular edges. i can afford 0 edges. a circle book.

95% of the books on my shelves are either borrowed from the library or ARCs.

“As prices for streaming subscriptions continue to soar and finding movies to watch, new and old, is becoming harder as the number of streaming services continues to grow, people are turning to the unexpected last stronghold of physical media: the public library.”

Reviews are the lifeblood of indie authors.

In the last few years, reviews have trickled to a near standstill, which creates a conundrum: need readers to get reviews, but need reviews to get readers.

If you take the time to write even a single sentence review, YOU ARE AMAZING THANK YOU I LOVE YOU
"I can't afford to support my favorite author right now, I—"

Reviews.

Reviews are free AND they are a gift to authors that can keep on giving (i.e., exposure, marketing, algo boosts, etc.)

Please, give the gift of reviews to your authors this holiday season. It really can make a difference!

I bought a teeny tiny little zine at the little queer horror bar's Christmas market and now I really want to make my own teeny tiny little zines. I should figure out how to do that

I suppose I should start ALSO promoting the fact that my books are in the Smashwords sale, huh? 😅

I've just been too tired to think lately but they are in fact there and they are in fact 50% off or free

Also, can I just say that this is a fantastic list of books that I too love with my whole, entire heart
The Smashwords End of Year Sale is on, and the dauntingly long list can be hard to wade through (especially with all the gen AI these days). I’ve curated a list of books I recommend or am interested in, all AI free to the best of my ability, and all under $3! 🌈📚

The annual Smashwords sale has begun, and my ebooks are all 75% off - meaning dozens of them are completely FREE, with longer novels only a dollar or so apiece. And Smashwords makes it very easy to send gift copies, too, so send away!

As someone who prefers for movies to be available in as many forms as possible (esp physical) I can safely say that Oppenheimer specifically in a movie theater is 200 times better than Oppenheimer at home because the colors look like shit even with an HD TV. Also you don't get the good rumblies.

Not everyone has access to Netflix. Not everyone has access to movie theaters. Why not both AND also selling the movie on physical media or as a streaming rental/service so the vast majority of people who want to see said movie can.

The average American income is below the poverty line in almost every major city. If you want people to shop, you need to pay them enough money that they can spend some of it. There is an actual limit to how many hours a day a person can work.
If you want people to spend more, pay them more.
