I personally get VERY detailed with my outlines, to the point that I’ve been told they probably qualify as zero drafts. I know most writers don’t need to get nearly that detailed, though; it’s just what works for me.

Last year I used Writing Month: writingmonth.org. A lot of people also use TrackBear: trackbear.app. I personally wouldn’t trust ProWritingAid because I suspect it would use my writing for AI training.

Oof, I’m sorry. That almost happened to me; my first two instances folded with enough advance notice to move, and I was torn on which to join next. The one I ALMOST picked as my third instance then disappeared without warning just a few months later.

Yep, I started as a pantser but slowly realized that doesn’t work for me. I’d end up with page upon page of rabbit-hole ramblings that only loosely linked together, and 90% of what I’d written would be unusable. Never managed to finish a longer story till I started planning first. #WritingCommunity

This ranch is on the far western edge of the Hill Country and contains a 30-acre spring-fed lake, 7.5 miles of West Nueces River access, and tons of gorgeous hills, hollows, and cliffs. Here are a couple photos!

#Texas friends, TP&WD is considering buying the 54,000-acre Silver Lake Ranch and turning it into Texas’ second-biggest park. This would be amazing both for public access and preservation of a fragile, highly biodiverse ecosystem. The public can comment till Nov. 5. Please go tell TP&WD you approve!

Since it's Black Speculative Fiction Month, I thought I'd share a story I love by a Black author each day. Since I'm starting 10 days in, I'll post a bunch to catch up. I'm going to do 15 from the Top 80 of Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy and 15 from Lightspeed/Nightmare.
