I rarely find completely unsympathetic characters all that interesting, but her motivation was so bizarre and also believable that I had to keep reading her chapters like I was watching a train wreck. Then she died violently, so that was good too.

Oh my gosh yes. When I fantasize about winning the lottery, probably about 70% of my dreams involve buying hundreds of copies of my favorite books just to give away, sending my favorite authors $1,000 per month on Ko-Fi, etc.

My grandma was mostly a good cook, but I did not like her pumpkin pies. Eventually I realized it was because she used, like, one single grain of cinnamon and no other spices. Properly spiced pumpkin pie is pretty good!
