A *huge* vaccine victory. I've been writing on this for years; Australia has seen remarkable progress in cervical cancer prevention with the HPV vaccine. I love seeing science triumph like this.
Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

The HPV vaccine is extremely effective at preventing cancer.

Viruses can be oncogenic. Get your vaccines and protect yourself!
newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.

Acknowledging and telling the truth about our history, no matter how uncomfortable, is just one way we can honor the experiences of Indigenous peoples and decolonize Thanksgiving.

Swipe to find out more ways to honor and support Indigenous peoples today and each day after.

Unfortunately, yes they did.

ICE raids are still his most popular policy.

It's late November, 2025, and 89% of GOP still approve of the job Trump is doing on immigration.🤦🏿‍♂️

52% of white people approve of the job Trump is doing on immigration.🤦🏿‍♂️

He said what he was going to do, and he's doing it.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone hiding in a bathroom as long as possible to escape family who you can hear asking where you are.

None of us should think we’re completely clear of bigotry. We’re surrounded by it. It’s literally bred into our bones. The reality is we should always be works in progress; educating/checking ourselves consistently. We can choose to make that easier or harder. In that context Twitter is a choice.
People who use Twitter to broadcast-- who post and then walk without reading the comments or scrolling the timeline-- are enabling a Nazi but maybe not pickling their own brains.

Folks who stick around and engage, though?

Oof.

I monitored these same sorts of white supremacists for years (to fight them), and let me tell you.

You have to CONSTANTLY, aggressively deprogram yourself.

Even just, the language. We are social creatures and we absorb the language we're around. Guess what words enter your mental vocabulary
This is the correct take. Stewing in white supremacist propaganda is bad for your thinking. And if think you are so savvy that it won’t impact you, you are the exact kind of mark they are slowly converting (I’m looking at you, centrist pundits).
It’s really funny how a generation will roll its eyes at parents who watch Fox News but doesn’t see why being immersed in Twitter is having the same effect. Lots of serious people show up on Fox News too but that shouldn’t be your primary source on the news.

Too many people get shot in America. They shouldn’t get shot. But they get shot because of a legacy of bad law and bad court decisions that have bastardized our founders’ bequest to us in the bill of rights. The problem isn’t mental health or Afghanis. It’s the guns.

Can we forget Thomas? Please? I need to banish that eyebrow from existence.
2/ nor can we forget Thomas Fugate, the 22 year old Trump campaign worked appointed as the lead counter terrorism coordinator at DHS.

This is a good insight. No computer could have predicted, nor can it properly replicate: Esthero, Leikeli47, Missy Elliott, Björk, Jill Scott, Big KRIT, UGK, The Roots (definitely not Black Thought on his own), Brandy, The Clark Sisters, HAIM, Fiona Apple … there’s a strong indication here.
I’ve been trying to find ways to articulate my hatred of AI-generated music that won’t come across as snobbish, but most of what I have to say about it can be boiled down to this:

None of the artists I like in any genre, regardless of era, make music that can be accurately predicted by a computer.

It makes me incredibly sad that we all know this to be true while, at the same time, we also know the very behaviour that should ban them for life from ever being a journalist, is the same behaviour that’ll bag them some ridiculously well paid ‘think piece’ journalism job.
So Olivia Nuzzi is clearly a piece of shit who can never work in journalism again after this.

And, also, Ryan Lizza is clearly a piece of shit who should never work in journalism again after this either.

We're all agree on that, right?

This👇 There’s an amazing book called Modernity and the Holocaust” by a guy called Zygmunt Bauman and he’s got a whole section on when society basically reverses the ethical framework we live in and how part of the project of fascism is to convince you this is normal and everyone else agrees.
Part of the problem is people think what persuades them is logic and facts.

In reality, most people's opinions are shaped primarily what they perceive to be the views of the community they're in.

So if you hang out with Nazis all day, it starts to feel "normal."

Just being themselves didn’t get enough people bowing and scraping so they decided to join a club where they could literally force the bowing, scraping, firings, extraditions…Does a lot for an ego if this video is anything to go by.
Interesting that so many of these American fascists failed at show business
this extremely fashy Trump cult of personality ad featuring Kristi Noem ran this morning on Fox & Friends
