This meant that at a young age, I had to learn how to regulate my emotions, and acquiesce to the two adults in my life and helped them regulate theirs because they didn’t have the skills to do so. It was exhausting

For expecting parents, so that way they at least have some way of learning how to regulate their own emotions, deal with colicky babies, moody teens. I am the offspring of two adults who did not know how to regulate their own emotions.

Because there are a lot of adults walking around damaged because they were raised by people who weren’t ready, and didn’t have the know how. I wanna be clear, I’m not saying you should have to take a course in order to have children. But there should be more resources available

Because the hubris of most people is that parenting is innate in all of us. When it absolutely is not. There’s no such thing as a perfect parent, but I agree with you. There should absolutely be some sort of course to get you ready.
