The surgery was quick and smooth. The doctor said my son was the best patient she’d served all day. He is now at home and resting. I can finally exhale, eat, and cry.

I’m in the waiting room while my youngest son has his dental surgery.

He was less scared about it than me and his mother *combined*, and I have faith that he’ll get through it OK.

Now I just have to figure out how to get through the next few hours.

Not to be basic, but Cruisin’ is one of my favorite songs of all time and D’Angelo’s cover is the best take on it. As someone who actively avoids covers most of the time, that’s no trivial opinion from me. It’s proof of everything he was as an artist.
