GOLDMAN has some tough words about the young college-grad unemployment rate rising to 8.5%. 👀

“.. A further deterioration in employment opportunities .. perhaps reflecting AI and other efficiency-enhancing measures .. could have a disproportionate negative impact on consumer spending ..”

This is true! In the early 20th century automakers lobbied municipalities to implement policies that would be pro-car and anti-bike/pedestrian/public transit. From jaywalking laws to traffic ordinances to street design to zoning, American car dependency was manufactured.
Seeing data like this convinces me that the car industry literally has been trying to block bikes from roads since the beginning, because bikes end up being the most useful transportation mode in cities, and over time people will recognize there is no reason to drive at all.
The latest evaluation of bike lane projects in Boston continues to show that if you build bike infrastructure, people will use it.

Car-dependent suburbs, man… why?!?!

I just spent 90 mins running 3 errands with my mom & driving her car for her. We were within a 5-mile radius of her house & all 6+ lane stroads. I would rather scoop out my own eyeballs than live like this every day.

Anyone in Würzburg? The St Andreas church in Sanderau is empty at the moment as it was used as a movie set last week.

Without the benches, the stunning brutalist architecture is even more striking. You can really appreciate the light and shadow effects from the huge skylights. #brutalist

he and Trump enjoy a form of omerta. The media does not saturate coverage with all of the bizarre and depraved things they do, in large part because the people who now own it have either passively or actively aligned themselves with Musk and Trump…..however in spite of softball, both are unpopular
It's really stupid, but it just really pisses me off that he says shit like this every day and the media won't report on it. You would really think "World's Richest Man is a Nazi" would be generate clicks.

i am willing to compromise by just insisting on prison terms for ICE employees. that is the moderate position.
if there's a reason to keep up the "tribunals for all involved" discourse one such reason it is to put in stark relief how far away some of the Dem politicking is from the mood on the ground
eric swalwell said on msnow that a major goal of a dem majority after the midterms would be for ice masks to come off and badges to come out, this is insufficient

DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

Yesterday was El Tour de Tucson, a huge bike race through the streets of our city.

One cyclist was run off the road by a collision with a javelina and the only thing that could make this more Tucson is if they landed in a cactus. 🌵

Democrats haven’t budged on the need for school vaccine requirements since 2019—86% agree with them then and now.

Republicans have consumed so much disinformation that their support has declined from 79% to 52%.
