I remember years after I got out of school, I met up with the teacher I respected and looked up to the most for lunch. To my horror the only thing they wanted to talk about was their health juice selling pyramid scheme. I had to get in on this thing and help sell it with them!

The Steam Machine, Frame, And Controller Are Full Of Good Design Choices
Valve is making a lot of moves with their hardware. I like what I see.

I'd like more reviewers to take stands. If you find the use of generative AI in game development repugnant and you find its use ruins a game for you, then that's the review you should write. And that low score is the score you should give.

Every $1 donation provides 4 or 5 meals from food banks. Even a donation of $5 right now can feed up to two dozen people. No, we shouldn’t have to do this. But we can.
Remember that while food banks welcome donations of food, they prefer $$$$$$$. They have deals with grocery stores and suppliers. You can only buy one dollar's worth of food for one dollar, but they can buy several dollars' worth. So don't, like, buy food to donate it, just give 'em the dough.

Artists behind some of the most popular films of all time are also forging one of the most powerful organized resistances to AI.

With solidarity, class action lawsuits and strong legislation, they're fighting to protect their livelihoods, and pop culture, from big tech.

My latest:
How artists behind Marvel, Alien, and the Matrix movies are fighting AI
With solidarity, legislation, class action lawsuits, and a little help from Guillermo del Toro. Plus, the Luddite Renaissance continues, and I open the mailbag.

RIP Drew Struzan - a man whose talent and imagination etched onto so many minds throughout the last 40+ years.

His art & posters are some of the first visuals I think of when I think about cinema - an invitation to watch these stories and worlds.

A massive loss 💔

So, I was looking for something entirely unrelated when I found this, which is apparently an ad for a Halloween horror marathon from 1961.

That's plenty great on its own, but for my fellow Kansas City peeps, look at what the participating theaters are...

Just got out of Ghost's KC show. It was a no-phone concert which is a genius idea. Everybody was just hanging out in the moment instead of sitting on their phones. Definitely see them if they're close because the set was awesome!

I think we lost something when people stopped making websites and started making posts. Even MySpace was a way cooler form of social media that let you customize your page to the nth degree.

If LLMs were superintelligent, AI companies would use them secretly to build a perfect options trading system, the next Minecraft or Avatar, Gibson's Idoru, their own 'Employee as a Service', and keep every dime of profit.

Instead, the public has to be bullied to use it. It's more an MLM than LLM.
