But he is one of the few people in this space that deeply respects the MECHANICAL aspect of video games. A few disagreements is nothing compared to the bigger picture

I understand why some people might not enjoy repetitive labbing in fighting games but are fine with repetitive grinding in an RPG. I really do.
But I think there’s something to be said for how some people don’t trust that they’re gaining “EXP” unless a game explicitly tells them

I used to KINDA understand the whole “Wanting to be a part of the conversation at launch” thing
But with lower attention spans, discourse cycles + everyone sticking to their niches more, the novelty of feeling a part of a larger conversation is kinda not as much of a thing anymore

Trying a lot of stuff with the Daemon X Machina 2 Titanic Scion demo, and I can already see why it's @jiikae.com's personal GOTY. Plus, I imagine the possibilities in the full game are even more. On Thursday my copy of the full game arrives and I will finally embark.

But also, more shmups should consider a “training mode” with save states and replay takeover for every stage
Some M2 ports do this already and I think it’s great
