the American people are out here making up mnemonics to figure out which toxic gas it’s fine to be sprayed with while protesting and the regime still thinks it’s going to win just by being even meaner?

this is Murca, we’re very dumb and bad at self preservation, which is weirdly adaptive now
protester tip:

if it's cloudy & white,
that's tear gas; no fright.
but if the cloud's green,
that's hexachloroethane.

Fun Fact: If you've ever seen one of our videos of something on fire in the lab (Christmas trees, turkey fryers, etc.), Andy was the guy in charge of all the people who put those demos together. They were run like the Navy because, before his time at CPSC, Andy spent 10 years working on nuke subs.
Last week, we celebrated the career and retirement of CPSC’s Associate Executive Director of Laboratory Sciences, Andrew “Andy” Stadnik.

Hey everyone,

We literally just added 100 more trans girl scouts to the trans girl scout cookie list. The list is bigger than it has ever been in EITM history.

Go get some cookies and make a trans scout's day!
1. Did you know that Girl Scouts has, for a long time, accepted trans girls and nonbinary scouts?

Trans kids are under attack. Every year, I make a thread of trans and nonbinary girl scouts you can get your cookies from.

Lets get our cookies from them this year in solidarity!
2026 Trans Girl Scouts To Order Cookies From!
This year, consider ordering your Girl Scout cookies from a trans girl scout to make their day!

Hi perhaps you would like a little break from the news in the form of an essay about my trip to Centralia, Pennsylvania, the town that’s been on fire since 1962—a place where surprisingly I found a great deal of hope, wonder, and mystery.
The Rebirth of Pennsylvania’s Infamous Burning Town
Sixty years into the fire that left the town condemned, Centralia is now a haven for wild plants and butterflies.

I'm going to be reading this and processing it over and over. It came to my inbox the night I returned from my childhood best friend's memorial service. The Andrea Gibson quotations are poignant.
Moses dies before entering the Promised Land, without a word about his fate.

That's not good enough for the Rabbis, who saw their own world destroyed by a bloodthirsty, vindictive Empire & needed to give voice to deeper questions--

& answers --

about human suffering & our obligations.

We report: mid-morning, the moon is firmly past its upper culmination, and on its way to the horizon. It is waning, a week away from the new moon. In the nighttime, it is a late visitor we see when we should not be awake; in the daytime, it is a wild cryptid we stumble upon.
